On October 7, the Doors Open Day was held at South Ural State University. Future students and their parents learned about the main competitive advantages of the university and the prospects of studying at SUSU, as well as how to increase the chances for admission to the state-funded form of education.
On September 29, activists of South Ural State University’s Association of International Students organised a trip to the Taganay National Park, where they passed through multiple obstacles and reached the top of the Ural Mountains.
Taganay is a unique national park located in the northern part of subdued mountain ridges of the South Ural, which is an isolated plexus of mountains, three sides of which change into plateau and further into flat wooded steppe.

A multi-author monograph on Development of Information Technologies in Criminal Proceedings has won an award under the category of Philosophy; Sociology; Political Science; Law; Science Studies at the Best Scientific Book in the Field of Humanities 2018 International Contest held at the Interregional Centre of Innovative Technologies in Education.
Mister SUSU Campus is a contest which has become a tradition on the SUSU Campus. Every year, the most charming, charismatic, and talented young men compete for the title of Mister SUSU Campus. They face many tests, but only the best of them are able to pass them. The competition itself is held in several rounds during 5-6 weeks, in which young men from our Campus learn to be “misters” and prepare for the competition finals.
Students from the SUSU Uralsky Sokol (Ural Falcon) Sports Club showed excellent results in kettlebell sport in a physical culture festival in Anapa. Kamil Yusupov took first place in the category of under 73kg, Danila Sedin – the 4th place, and Anatoly Mikhailov – the 5th place.
The athletes got themselves ready for this competition in just over two weeks.

South Ural State University is continuing to expand the borders of its international collaboration. SUSU Rector Aleksandr Shestakov has signed a partnership agreement with Sudan University of Science and Technology, which was represented by Rector Rashid Ahmed Mohamed Hussein. Professor Hussein is also the director of the Department of Research at the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Sudan.

Two years ago, on October 3, 2016 the Office of Academic Writing began its work at SUSU in order to integrate the research and teaching staff of SUSU into the world’s academic community. The services that the Office offers are in big demand among the university employees, since absolutely free of charge the authors get a complex assistance from tutors and professional consultants at all stages of preparing their scientific publications: starting with consulting on choosing a journal and executing an article and ending with editing of its English version by a native speaker.
South Ural State University entered the Copper League* (Top 500) of the international subject rankings for natural sciences according to the international ranking agency Round University Ranking (RUR Rankings). The university took the 459th place among the world universities and the 15th place among Russian universities.
In 2018, South Ural State University is celebrating its 75th anniversary. Within this period, thousands of talented specialists have been trained in various spheres of scientific knowledge. On October 2, the Physical Training and Sports Festival of students starts in the village of Sukko, in which representatives of the Russian and Belarusian universities will take part. The event takes place within the framework of a large Russian-Belarusian project – Sports and Athletic Meeting of the Union State for Children and Youth. The Meeting has been held annually since 2003. The main goal of the competition is to strengthen the friendship of the youth of fraternal peoples.
On September 27, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Institute of Engineering and Technology of SUSU took part in the opening ceremony of the first stage of Park of National Achievements and Victories – the First Cosmonauts Alley. Cosmonauts Alley is the first object of the memorial site, which glorifies the representatives of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Yetkulsky District.
