All-Russian Economic Dictation Quiz Held at SUSU

On October 9th, an All-Russian Economic Dictation Quiz on the topic of “Strong Economy Means Prosperous Russia!” was held at the MBA Centre of South Ural State University. Over 190 people took part in the event.

The campaign is organized by the Free Economic Society of Russia with the support from the International Union of Economists, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Moscow Aviation Institute, and the Administration of the Russian Federation Entities.

The dictation aims at determining and enhancing the level of economic competence of population as a whole, as well as its individual groups of different ages and professions, and at developing intelligent potential of young people, assessing economic activity and economic competence of population of various entities of the Russian Federation.

“It’s for the second time that we’ve been holding the All-Russian Economic Dictation Quiz. This event gives our students a chance to assess their level of knowledge in Economics, and provides the dictation organizers with аn opportunity to collect big volumes of statistical information. There are no restrictions as to the level of background travel of the participants: basic knowledge of Economics will be sufficient to take part in the event. The dictation quiz includes open and closed questions, as well as small problems for solving,” shared Deputy Director for Strategic Development of the SUSU School of Economics and Management Natalya Pravdina.

For a fifth-year student of the SUSU School of Economics and Management Anna Belogrudova it was the first time that she participated in the Economic Dictation Quiz. She firmly believes that such events can provide more new and helpful knowledge.

“It wasn’t’ difficult for me, but the first questions took more time as I don’t know the history of Economics that well. The rest of the questions were related to my programme of studies and I knew the answers to them, so, I liked the dictation very much in general. I think I’ve scored quite well and hope that I’ll get a chance to take part in the next round.”

In the end of the event, all the participants were awarded certificates. Students will be able to learned about the scores they gained on the event’s official web-site https://diktant.org/ in a week’s time. Those students, who scored the highest, will be able to participate in an Economic Dictation contest at the all-Russian level.
