RAEX Ranking Agency has published the fourteenth annual ranking of the best Russian universities, RAEX-100, which is part of the Three University Missions family. In 2025, universities from 30 Russian regions have made it to this list of the best ones.
South Ural State University now holds the 43rd place, having improved last year’s result by 6 positions and being the only representative of the Chelyabinsk Region in this ranking.

The contest is held annually at North-Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) and is aimed at building up a creative platform where young people present the results of their professional training in the field of multimedia journalism. On May 15th, an online meeting was held between representatives of the Department of Food Technology and Biotechnology of the SUSU School of Medical Biology and representatives and students of Shenyang University of Technology (SUT), China. Scientists from South Ural State University have patented a computer program that allows for highly accurate prediction of the physical and mechanical characteristics of aluminium alloy castings. This development was created as part of the research conducted by SUSU specialists jointly with regional enterprises.
"Zvezda" Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad, held by the Russian Engineering Union with the support of South Ural State University, has set records in all key indicators in the current cycle.

The annual “SUSU Is a Sports University!” festival, which brought together more than 3000 students, athletes, guests and residents of our city, was held at Elena Elesina Track-and-field Complex on May 16th. This year, the event is dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and is organised in the spirit of the legendary 1980 Olympics.
The opening ceremony was decorated with a real Olympic flame, symbolizing the desire for victory, unity and sporting spirit.
