Students of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities of South Ural State University have become winners in the social-cause works contest as part of the Passing the Media Torch “17 Values of Russia” all-Russian event, which has been held in Chelyabinsk and has been dedicated to the “Humanism” value.
On November 24th, the results of the selection process for the Priority 2030 program were announced in Moscow. 106 universities participating in the program will receive grants for their development programs. SUSU is among these universities.
Opening ceremony for this annual all-Russian science-to-practice conference has been held at South Ural State University. The main idea of the conference is the integration of science, education and industry. This event is timed to coincide with the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery and will last till November 21st.

Timed to coincide with the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery, this annual all-Russian science-to-practice conference was held November 20th through 21st. This event organized at South Ural State University united the members of our country’s scientific community, that deals with development of new types of armaments, military equipment and artillery. More than eighty participants presented about sixty relevant reports over the course of two days.
The “17 Values of Russia” two-day media forum, as part of which our university has become a platform for discussing the “Humanism” value, has wrapped up at South Ural State University. The event brought together students, young media professionals, public figures, and experts, uniting them to create socially significant content.

The administrative and academic staff of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School took training at Moscow Polytechnic University in the Control Systems program, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and research in the automotive industry. The program included research and testing of driver assistance systems, virtual testing of highly automated and self-driving vehicles, and programming of such vehicles, as well as electric vehicles.

The Russian Professorial Assembly award recognizes outstanding scientific achievements in education and science.
Alena Zamyshlyaeva, Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Head of the “VirtUM” Centre for Top-level Academic Programmes in the Field of Artificial Intelligence, Doctor of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), has been named a laureate of the Russian Professorial Assembly's national award, "Dean of the Year 2025", in the Physics and Mathematics category. The Russian Professorial Assembly award recognizes outstanding scientific achievements in education and science.
South Ural State University is actively expanding its international cooperation in the field of humanities. Our university is developing student exchange programs and creating modern educational projects for international students. Among them is Master's degree student from China Li Shan.
International Recycling Day is celebrated on November 15th. Researchers from SUSU can also directly relate to this holiday since they have found a method to effectively use wheat grain sprouted in the ear. Bioethanol, obtained from such raw material at the university laboratory, after thorough distillation, can be used for technical, medical and even food-related purposes.

– Could you please tell us why you chose SUSU, and what influenced your career choice?
The regional round of the StudRussia All-Russian Competition for International Students took place in November. The winners advanced to the finals and will present their achievements at the national round.
The StudRussia competition aims to support talented international students with significant achievements in science, creative activities, sports, public activities, and volunteering.
Participants were able to compete in the following categories:

An international team of scientists proposed using artificial intelligence in calculating the topology, that is the configuration and arrangement of wind power system units.
The annual series of meetings with international students on issues relevant to their stay on the territory of the Russian Federation and internal regulations started at South Ural State University.

Since 2021, scientists at South Ural State University, with the expert support from Joint Stock Company Academician V.P. Makeyev State Rocket Centre, are developing a demonstrator of a propulsion system for the first Russian single-stage vertical take-off and landing reusable launch vehicle.
