Students of the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology have come back from Crimea where they were taking internship. Master’s students Aleksey Miroshnichenko, Anton Guselnikov and Igor Zamchalkin were working at one of the wind-driven power plants. Among the tasks set before the young men were inspection, maintenance and repairs of the equipment.

Opening Cup of Student Hockey League is to be Held in Kazan

On September 14-16 of 2018 in Kazan, under support of Russian Ice Hockey Federation, the 1st Cup of SHL Opening is to be held, featuring teams consisting of hockey players born in 1996-2002, representing more than 40 teams participating in the Championship and Competition of the Student Hockey League (SHL).

Best players of the tournament will get included in the youth SHL team and take part in Student Hockey Challenge international tournament, which is to take place in Krasnoyarsk from 1st till 8th of October, 2018.

A Story of Success: an International Graduate of SUSU Received Honorary Rewards for Contribution into Development of Tajikistan

South Ural State University actively develops international relations. Within the celebratory events held on the occasion of SUSU’s 75th anniversary, the Association of International Graduates was established upon an initiative of the International Office with the purpose to form continuous communication between the university and its alumni. One of the university’s successful alumni is Abdullozoda Ramazon Tolibjon, who was given two honorary rewards for outstanding professionalism and contribution to science and education of the Republic of Tajikistan.

It’s been a week since the beginning of the new academic year. Below is a quick round-up of the most important events of the past week - and where to read more on the SUSU website.

The major university event took place on the last summer day when SUSU held a matriculation ceremony for freshers. The formal welcome was among a broad range of events organised by SUSU, including the senior staff’s presentations on the University’s recent achievements in education, research, and quality of life on campus.

SUSU Organized a New Project for Tutors Working with International Students

A lot of attention at South Ural State University is paid to working with international students. The International Office of SUSU promotes their integration into the new cultural environment. For that purpose, the International Office together with Association of International Students launched a new project.

IELTS for SUSU Students

The Department of Foreign Languages announces admissions to an elective course for 3rd and 4th-year students in order to prepare for passing IELTS International Certification Exam.

International certificate is a competitive advantage of a SUSU graduate, as it ensures additional possibilities from the position of academic and professional mobility: getting a prestigious job, or further training in master’s degree studies abroad.

Coordination meeting is to take place on September 7, room 441 of SUSU’s academic building two.

All-Russian Economic Dictation

South Ural State University is the regional venue for holding All-Russian Economic Dictation. The dictation is aimed at determining and enhancing the level of economic competence of population as a whole as well as its individual age and professional groups, developing intelligent potential of young people, assessing economic activity and economic competence of population of various constituents of the Russian Federation.

Topic of the dictation is “Strong Economy Means Prosperous Russia”.

Students from the Countries of Central Asia Began to Study at SUSU

Students from 52 countries of the world study at South Ural State University. This year, for the first time ever, more than 150 citizens from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan entered SUSU.

Educational Programs of SUSU are Among the Best in Russia

The Accreditation in Education All-Russian Informational and Analytical Journal evaluated educational programs of South Ural State University. Experts of the ranking were representatives of academic community of Russia’s higher education institutions.

RAEX Rating Agency (RAEX-Analytics) has for the fourth time prepared the rankings of universities by reputation within broad fields. For several years now the status of South Ural State university in this ranking has been stable.  

Every year the lists of Top 50 universities are published for the fields of “Engineering, Natural Sciences and Mathematics” and “Economics and Management”, as well as of Top 10 universities for the fields of “Mathematics and Natural Sciences”, “Technical Sciences, Engineering and Technologies”, “Humanities and Social Sciences”, and “Medicine”.

SUSU Creates Electron Shields for Protection against Electromagnetic Radiation

The space surrounding us is literally pierced with electromagnetic radiation and magnetic fields of natural and artificial origin. Even a short electromagnetic pulse is enough to knock equipment of any level of complexity out of operation. Candidate of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics) Aleksey Trukhanov, who is senior research fellow at the SUSU Nanotechnologies Research and Education Centre, is studying electrolytic films to create electromagnetic and magnetic shields capable of neutralizing the radiation.

The Successful SUSU Festival will Show Prospects and Opportunities to Freshman Students

On September 6 at 11:30, the Successful SUSU Festival is to start at South Ural State University. The event has already become traditional for the university. This year, the Festival is to take place in the Activity Hall of the main academic building; the Festival is to conclude on September 7. The main purpose of the event is to introduce freshman students to opportunities and prospects of SUSU’s extracurricular activity.

President of SMS Group Holding Pino Tese Delivered a Lecture at SUSU

On September 3, the President and Director General of SMS group Inc. (USA) Pino Tese visited South Ural State University, where he delivered a lecture.

Professor Pino Tese is a Professor of the Department of Machines and Processes of Plastic Metal Working, and regularly delivers lectures at SUSU. This time, he read a lecture about skin-pass mills for 4th-year students of the Faculty of Material Science and Metallurgical Technologies (MSMT).
