In 2018, South Ural State University and Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University signed a partnership agreement. Presently, negotiations are being held to establish a branch of the SPbPU New Manufacturing Technologies NTI Center at SUSU.

On Russia Day, the 12th of June, awarding ceremony for winners and the best players of the mini-football tournament of the City Administration of Chelyabinsk, which was held in May, took place at the main stage of the Pushkin Park of Culture and Leisure. All of the works, without exception, were presented in the form of integrated projects of advertising and PR campaigns developed for subjects of various spheres – industrial, educational, governmental, cultural, and medical.
South Ural State University students are taking part in the preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Championship as volunteers. A few dozen volunteers from SUSU are now in the cities in which matches will be held, including Yekaterinburg and Saint Petersburg. The volunteers will meet and guide guests of the competitions, work with the audience during the matches, participate in the ticketing program, and offer informational support.
