On December 10, 2018 at 10:30 a presentation on launching of Digital History of SUSU project will be held at the Science and Technology of the Southern Ural Exhibition Centre (Room 018 of the Main University Building) as part of the of celebrations on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of the university.
Students and academics of the Department of Russian and International History of the SUSU Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities will present a Startup of a web-site on the history of the major university of the South Ural region, which over the period of its development has passed the stages from Chelyabinsk Mechanical Engineering Institute (CMEI) to Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute (CPI), to Chelyabinsk State Technical University (CSTU), and to South Ural University (National Research University) (SUSU (NRU)). At the presentation you will learn interesting facts about the history of SUSU, will see photos of its rectors, academics and students, and will form an idea of what our university looked like at different phases of its life.
The web-site will offer information not only in the form of texts, but also as digitalized documents, audio and video records. Already now every SUSU student and academic can become a co-author of the presentation by taking part in the contest on 75 Interesting Facts about SUSU. The best fascinating facts will be posted at the web-site, and the contest winners will be awarded prizes right during the presentation.
The presentation will close with a Take Memories as a Souvenir campaign: all the guests of the presentation will be able to send an Anniversary vintage postcard to their friends or to themselves. Also the presentation will reveal the prospects of Digital History of SUSU project, will give a chance to get a closer look at historical artefacts, and will provide with good vibes for all the days of the Anniversary celebration!
