International SUSU Students Learn about Russian Folk Traditions

On February 6th the international SUSU students went snow tubing to Lazurnyi village. The Center for Sociocultural Adaptation of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication organized this event to let the newly arrived students get a chance to experience all the charms of the Russian winter, and we know that downhill sledging is part of the Russian culture.

Take Part in the SUSU Scientific Fights Intellectual Show for Young Scientists!

On February 8, within celebration of the Day of Russian Science, Scientific fights of young scientists are to be held at SUSU for the first time!

Scientific fights are simultaneously an intellectual show and a contest in which young scientists compete in ability to talk about their own scientific research results with a big audience in simple and interesting form. Each contestant is given 7 minutes to attract the audience with his research and its results. During the speech, it is allowable to use any available attributes except for computer presentation.

The Day of Russian Science is to be Celebrated at SUSU

On February 8–10, within celebration of the Day of Russian Science, the 10th scientific conference of postgraduate and doctorate students is to be held at South Ural State University. SUSU International Students Celebrate Sri Lanka’s Independence Day

On February 6th, a tea ceremony will be held at South Ural State University on the occasion of Sri Lanka’s Independence Day, with participation of students from Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Indonesia.

In 1948, the Republic of Sri Lanka gained its independence, being reformed as the dominion Ceylon, and in 1972, the country was renamed Sri Lanka and was no longer a dominion, but remained a member of the Commonwealth of Nations. Nonetheless, Sri Lanka, as former Ceylon, never stopped being famous for tea that is produced there.

SUSU Master’s Degree Students are Invited for Supplementary English Language Courses

In spring semester of 2018, master’s degree students of SUSU will have a unique chance to complete supplementary English language courses FOR FREE in the workload of 72 hours and obtainment of a certificate on vocational enhancement.

The courses are going to start on February 12 of 2018 in the format of 4 in-class hours per week. Time and venue of the courses are determined upon an arrangement with the teacher.

SUSU Young Leader School Holds a Travelling Workshop for the Students of Kyshtym

Lecturers of the SUSU Young Leader School visited the Kyshtym Branch of South Ural State College with a two-day master-class for students of the city of Kyshtym.

“The Young Leader School is a unique and most big-scale project of South Ural State University training thousands of students every year. Memorial lectures were held at South Ural State University in honor of the 100th birthday of the honorary member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction, Honored Architect of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), SUSU Professor Alexander Oatul.

SUSU Rector Alexander Shestakov spoke about Alexander Oatul’s role in the life of the university and Chelyabinsk in general.
