SUSU Students will Begin Studying Lean Production in the New Academic Year

In September, a unique-for-Chelyabinsk Laboratory of Simulation Learning entitled “Efficient Production” is planned to be opened on the grounds of South Ural State University’s School of Economics and Management. In the course of classes, students will master in practice the fundamentals of “lean production” concept in business management, which nowadays is the world’s mainstream of management.

Exhibition and Master Class by a Designer from Buenos Aires in Chelyabinsk

On April 20th and 21st a lecture will be delivered and a master class will be held at the Museum and Exhibition Center of Chelyabinsk State Museum of Local History by a multi-disciplinary designer Mono Grinbaum from Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Cosmonautics Day: Sergey Vaulin and Sergey Sapozhnikov about Perspectives of Aerospace Exploration

April 2 in our country is the Cosmonautics Day. On this day in 1961, Yuriy Gagarin performed his first flight into space. April 6th through April 8th, 11 representatives of the Region’s institutions of higher education fought to win and gain the right to pass on to the district rounds. In 2018 South Ural State University is celebrating its 75th Anniversary. The university has passed a long way of development over this period of time, and brought up several generations of talented scientists recognized not only in Russia, but abroad as well. Summer School in Freiberg: Students are Told about Internship Abroad

A meeting of the Chairman of the Student Community of the city of Freiberg (Germany), Thomas Schmaltz, with students of Chelyabinsk universities was held at South Ural State University.

SUSU students have the unique possibility to take part in summer language school in Germany. The school is organized on the grounds of the Freiberg Mining Academy, one of the most well-known higher education institutions of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Exhibition of The Most Beautiful Books of Germany 2016&2017 is to be Held in Chelyabinsk

On April 10 through 25 of 2018, the exhibition of The Most Beautiful Books of Germany 2016&2017 is to be held in Chelyabinsk in reading room No.2 of the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library (60 Lenin prospect). The exhibition displays the winners of a similarly-named contest, the best edition-bound books of Germany by their design. This is the second time that SUSU staff takes part in organizing such exhibition.

Praise to Men of Labour!: Contest on the Best Design Engineer Wraps Up at SUSU

On April 10th the Praise to Men of Labour! contest on engineering competences wrapped up at South Ural State University. This year, the participants of the final stage included representatives of five regions of the Ural Federal District: the Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Kurgan, Chelyabinsk Regions, and Khanty-Mansijsk Autonomous District, 21 people in total.

April 12th is celebrated as Cosmonautics Day every year. On this day 56 years ago a citizen of the Soviet Union Senior Lieutenant Yuri Gagarin for the first time in human history circled the Earth aboard the Vostok spacecraft, and thus started the era of manned spaceflights. 

SUSU Master’s Student Improves Gate Valves’ Reliability for Oil Pipelines

Gate valves of various designs and sizes are widely used as shut-off valves for main oil pipelines and gas pipelines, as well as in the systems of fire fighting and water supply. The researchers of South Ural State University are working on improving reliability and operation efficiency of such devices according to the task by one of the major manufacturers of pipeline assemblies in Russia – KONAR Company.

On April 14th the ceremony of opening Junior Academy of Linguistics and International Communication will be held at South Ural State University. The academy will include 2 schools: International Relations, and Linguistics and Translation.
