SUSU Students Participate in the “I Am a Professional” Olympiad

Students of the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering have taken part in the “I Am a Professional” Olympiad (“Ya – professional”) and successfully passed the selection round and the first round, after which they were invited to the “Key to Ignition” winter school (“Klyuch na start”) in Moscow.

From January 28th through February 1st, a meeting was held for the Olympiad participants in the Arms and Military Technology section within the frameworks of the winter school, where a busy schedule was presented. The students visited the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bauman MSTU, where they were shown models of arms that were developed at the department. The organizers offered the participants an opportunity to visit the Mechanical Engineering Bureau in Kolomna, offered an excursion around the enterprise, and shared the history of creation of the bureau and of the weapons developed there.

They visited the Dmitrov branch in Orevo village, where big research and development projects are being completed on new technologies and where they offer academic lessons, including lessons that are difficult to offer in Moscow for technical or other reasons. The students took part in the Royal Readings, where the results of the last year’s work on space exploration were announced, and plans were presented for the coming year. The cultural portion of the program included a visit to the Operetta Theatre to watch the Anna Karenina musical, and a trip to the Holy Trinity - St. Sergius Lavra in Sergiev Posad.
