Watching Movies Together! Project for International Students to Be Launched at SUSU

The Department of Russian as a Foreign Language jointly with the Centre for Sociocultural Adaptation and with support from the Association of International Students presents a new project called Watching Movies Together!

Every two weeks a movie will be announced, which then will be discussed at a movies club and in a dedicated chat. As a result of watching and discussing it is planned to give tasks on writing essays, drawing pictures, and on other forms of comprehending and interpreting of information.

Chief Editor of MK-Ural Weekly Newspaper Holds a Masterclass for Students of the SUSU Faculty of Journalism

At South Ural State University a masterclass was held by the Chief Editor of Moskovsky Komsomolets – Ural newspaper Aleksandr Skripov, who shared his experience of working in mass media with the students of the Faculty of Journalism of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The Chief Editor of MK-Ural Aleksandr Skripov opened the meeting by sharing his understanding of the profession of a journalist, and of the importance of “educating” the future mass-media content specialists by holding of such meetings:

Finals of Meteorite Dance Festival at SUSU: “We Unite People Fascinated by Dancing”

November 5th through 11th South Ural State University became a venue for a big-scale dance project — contemporary choreography Meteorite Dance Festival.

Badminton Tournament Took Place at SUSU

On November 5, a badminton tournament among female international students of South Ural State University took place.

Participants of the badminton tournament were about 40 female students from China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other countries.

President of the SUSU Association of International Students, Uvindu Wijeweera, told us about why it was decided to hold this tournament.

The First Round of Young Leader School Came to an End

On October 1- November 9, 2018, SUSU held the basic level of Young Leader School. The participants of the project master super-professional skills and discover new opportunities for their development.

Young Leader School (YLS) is one of the large-scale projects of South Ural State University. This year it is being implemented within the frames of the grant support of All-Russian Contest of the Youth’s projects.

The Continuity of Generations: SUSU held a Meeting Devoted to the 100th Anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League

South Ural State University held a meeting devoted to two significant events, namely 100th anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League (AULYCL) and 50th anniversary of assigning Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute (nowadays SUSU) the name of Leninist Young Communist League.

Information Days for International Students Held at SUSU

The annual information days for international students from Arab countries, French-speaking countries, and China have been held at South Ural State University. The goal of these events is to inform international students about migration rules, fire safety, and the rules of living in dormitories and life at SUSU.

Contest Round of Vmeste International Festival of Creativity Wraps Up at SUSU

For the 10th time, South Ural State University is holding Vmeste (Together) International Festival of Creativity, in which hundreds of talented people of various ages participate.

The festival is centred around patriotic education for teenagers and the transfer of knowledge from older mentors. Each year, three to five thousand people take part in the festival.

SUSU is to Organize Vmeste (Together) International Festival of Creativity for the Tenth Time

South Ural State University for the 10th, anniversary, time is going to organize Vmeste (Together) International Festival of Creativity, in which hundreds of talented people of various ages are taking part. The first selection stage is to be held at SUSU on October 27th through 28th of 2018.

The Most Creative Group of Freshman Students Chosen at the Institute of Architecture and Construction

The Institute of Architecture and Construction held a contest called “Autumn Mood” among freshman students. Future designers and architects had to present their group in a creative format within a limited time.

SUSU Talents 2018 Festival for Freshmen Closed with a Bright Gala Show

On October 17th at the Activity Hall of South Ural State University a gala show and awarding ceremony were held under SUSU Talents 2018 Festival for freshmen.

More than 300 students took part in the festival, and about 100 applications were submitted from all schools and institutes of the university. On the day of the competition the jury watched more than 60 performances of various genres.

SUSU International Postgraduate Students Took Part in an International Conference in Yekaterinburg

International Research Conference on Learning to Understand Russia: Political and Mass Media Communication was held October 10th through 14th at Ural State Pedagogical University. Researchers from different cities and countries came to the conference. South Ural State University was represented by Doctors of Sciences Nataliya Koshkarova, Olga Solopova, and Yelena Kharchenko.

Selection Rounds for SUSU Talent Show Wrap Up

From October 1st through 5th in the Activity Hall of South Ural State University, contestants of the annual university talent show completed the selection rounds.

In first day of the selection rounds the young men and women from all years of study and all institutes had a chance to show their skills in the category “Vocals, Amateur Singer-songwriter Songs”. Both popular Russian and foreign, national and singer-songwriter songs were heard from the stage of the Activity Hall.

Mister SUSU Campus 2018 – It’s Just Beginning!

Mister SUSU Campus is a contest which has become a tradition on the SUSU Campus. Every year, the most charming, charismatic, and talented young men compete for the title of Mister SUSU Campus. They face many tests, but only the best of them are able to pass them. The competition itself is held in several rounds during 5-6 weeks, in which young men from our Campus learn to be “misters” and prepare for the competition finals.

Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of SUSU Took Part in the Opening of the First Cosmonauts Alley

On September 27, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Institute of Engineering and Technology of SUSU took part in the opening ceremony of the first stage of Park of National Achievements and Victories – the First Cosmonauts Alley. Cosmonauts Alley is the first object of the memorial site, which glorifies the representatives of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Yetkulsky District.
