Students of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction are given the opportunity to polish their academic drawing skills in the most picturesque cities of Russia for two weeks. This year, SUSU second-year students majoring in Architectural Design of the Department of Architecture will go to Saint Petersburg for two weeks for a plein-air practice.
On June 5, the 7th Russia-Kyrgyzstan Interregional Conference took place in Chelyabinsk. The main topic of discussion was The Role of Digital Transformation in Economic Integration of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic.
41 students took part in the Conference as volunteers, SUSU students included. Supervisor of the SUSU volunteer event, Veronika Livonchik, told us about selection of students and general responsibilities of volunteers, and shared her emotions:
At the Power Engineering Faculty of South Ural State University’s Polytechnic Institute, there are student corners for all SUSU students to relax and enjoy themselves.
The Dean of the Power Engineering Faculty, Sergey Gandzha, told us about how the idea for creating such spaces came to be, and where additional areas for relaxation and leisure will be created.
– How did the idea for creating student corners come about?
Due to modern technology development, there are more and more people willing to learn foreign languages distantly. Scientists of South Ural State University developed an innovative robotized dialog system for learning Russian language by foreigners; the system that allows mastering the language ‘from the scratch’ from any part of the world.
Over the last few years, South Ural State University has been successfully cooperating with more than 10 universities in Kazakhstan. More than 20 students have already completed their study in double master’s degree programs and received diplomas from both SUSU and a Kazakh university.
In 2018, South Ural State University and Peter the Great Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University signed a partnership agreement. Presently, negotiations are being held to establish a branch of the SPbPU New Manufacturing Technologies NTI Center at SUSU.
Children’s Internet University of SUSU is successfully finishing its first academic year. Within this time, school students from all around Russia could learn fundamentals of various sciences, which the university’s lecturers taught in an interesting form.
Defense of graduation qualification works in the master’s program of Universal Journalism successfully finished at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications of the ISSH Faculty of Journalism. These are the first masters’ degree students to graduate the Journalism program of South Ural State University.
Each year students of South Ural State University undertake internships, get working experience in real-life industry. Students of the Department of Food and Biotechnology of the SUSU School of Medical Biology have the opportunity to prove themselves not only in the university’s laboratories but also at industrial enterprises.
A press conference from Rector Aleksandr Shestakov entitled “SUSU in the World’s Education Elite” dedicated to the university’s inclusion into the list of the best universities around the world according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) British Consulting Company was held in South Ural State University’s Sigma academic building on June 14th.
Students of the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service are elaborating a project for sustainable tourism development in the region by an order from the Government of the Chelyabinsk region and the Center of Tourism Development.
On June 19th 2018 at 10:00 in Chelyabinsk, a festival of Peace dedicated to the 30-year anniversary of the Run for Peace will be held at the Victory Garden (Sad Pobedy), with a ceremonial meeting of the Western branch of the Peace Run Russian Torch Relay in Tyumen – Moscow – Stavropol.
In July of 2018, beginner media specialists will be able to work in a team of the Youth Resource Center, get consultations on administrating groups and accounts in social networks, writing press releases, and designing decorations.
From June 3rd through 10th of 2018, Calotte Academy international traveling symposium and scientific forum on Arctic research was held in the cities of European Arctic: Rovaniemi and Inari (Finland); Kirkenes and Neiden (Norway); Apatity and Murmansk (Russia).
Under support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, in 2019 the leading universities and research centers of Germany invite young Russian scientists, postgraduates and young lecturers for internships.
German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) announced the beginning of a contest for young scientists from Russian universities to take part in Russian-German “Mikhail Lomonosov” and “Immanuel Kant” programs in order to undertake a research internship in the leading universities and research centers of Germany in 2019, within 3 or 6 months.
South Ural State University for the first time got included into the global subject ranking in engineering sciences according to Round University Ranking (RUR Ranking) international ranking agency. The university was placed the 526th among the world’s universities and the 41st among universities of Russia.
On Russia Day, the 12th of June, awarding ceremony for winners and the best players of the mini-football tournament of the City Administration of Chelyabinsk, which was held in May, took place at the main stage of the Pushkin Park of Culture and Leisure. As a reminder, the team of SUSU international students took the second place.
The Head of Chelyabinsk, Evgeniy Teftelev, rewarded the athletes with silver medals and a cup. Moreover, SUSU student Hag Hamed was awarded a certificate as The Best Player.
Bachelor’s students in the Advertising and Public Relations program of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications of the ISSH Faculty of Journalism successfully defended their graduation qualification projects. All of the works, without exception, were presented in the form of integrated projects of advertising and PR campaigns developed for subjects of various spheres – industrial, educational, governmental, cultural, and medical.
South Ural State University students are taking part in the preparations for the 2018 FIFA World Championship as volunteers. A few dozen volunteers from SUSU are now in the cities in which matches will be held, including Yekaterinburg and Saint Petersburg. The volunteers will meet and guide guests of the competitions, work with the audience during the matches, participate in the ticketing program, and offer informational support.
June 5th through 8th, the 3rd International Youth Science-to-Practice Conference Magnitogorsk Rolling Practice 2018 (Innovative processes of metal treatment under pressure: fundamental issues of the link between science and manufacture) was held under financial support of Federal State State-Financed Institution “Russian Foundation for Basic Research”.
From June 7th through 10th of 2018, the International Conference entitled “Wissenstransfer in der globalgeschichtlichen Perspektive” (“Transfer of Knowledge in Global Historical Perspective”), organized by the Society of Transocean History Research, was held in Dusseldorf (Germany).
The South Ural region “Moose” and the geoglyphs of the Nazca desert seem to have gained a new colleague - giant letters created by buildings, rivers, and roads observed in satellite photos of the Earth using a computer program.
On June 8 of 2018, the 4th All-Russian Science-to-Practice Conference on Physical Rehabilitation in Sports, Medicine and Adaptive Physical Culture was held within the National Medical Innovation Forum in Saint Petersburg. This Conference traditionally brings together specialists in the sphere of physical education, sport, healthcare and social sphere, and creates a platform for exchange of experience and enhancement of specialists’ qualification.
SUSU, jointly with the leading universities of our country and from around the world will be training unique specialists under ERASMUS+ Project. Among the Russian participants of the project are: Astrakhan State University, South-Russian State Polytechnic University, Stavropol State Agrarian University, Volgograd State Technical University, and South Ural State University. On behalf of Iran the participants Sari Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources University, and Babol Noshirvani University of Technology.
