The second stage of the Open Competition among Students of  General and Professional Education Organizations in Project Management at the Chelyabinsk Region Governor’s Cup, “PMCup”, was held March 14th through march 24th. It was held in two heats: school teams participated March 14-17 and teams of professional educational organizations participated March 21-24 in the on-site stage.

Results of the First International Forum “Communication Leader of the 21st Century”

 

The SUSU Faculty of Journalism successfully completed their work in the First International Scientific Forum “Communication Leader of the 21st Century” on March 26th. Over the four days of the forum, SUSU hosted more than 600 talented school and university students from France, Venezuela, Italy, Laos, Poland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and more than 70 Russian cities – from Abakan to Yakutsk.

Exhibition “Lady’s Trinkets” Reveals Secrets about Life of Women in the Southern Urals

 

СThe exhibition “Lady’s Trinkets” will be open to the public from March 30 to April 30 in the Art Hall of SUSU. Despite an airy name, longstanding archeological and ethnographic studies of the Southern Urals form the basis of this exhibition.

SUSU will Held the Collegiate Programming Contest

 

This Saturday on April 2 SUSU will held the collegiate programming contest “Prime Time” among bachelor’s and master’s degree students. 

During 5 hours teams comprised of 2-3 people will develop mathematical algorithms and write program codes, solving unconventional problems as quick as possible. The participants should apply their knowledge in the field of mathematics and programming to become a finalist. 

Meeting with Representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Chelyabinsk Region was Held at SUSU

 

On March 24, 2016 students of other faculties of SUSU met the representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk region.

The scientific business school has flung it’s doors open for young SUSU innovators

The first regional scientific business school was held at SUSU in February. The initiative for organizing business schools throughout Russia belongs to the Ministry of Economic Development. The event is held through the Russian Politechnical Society. At SUSU, it was held as part of the “Step into the Future” project, with assistance from the Office of Science and Innovation.

SUSU Has Signed an Agreement with an Iranian University

 

The delegation which included representatives of the Government and the business industry of Chelyabinsk region made a working visit to Iran. The purpose of the visit was to expand business partnerships and to build cooperation with the Islamic Republic. The delegation was headed by the Governor of Chelyabinsk region, Boris Dubrovsky, including representatives of South Urals; Vice-Rector for International Relations of SUSU, Victor Katochkov, took part in the trip.

SUSU Signed Cooperation Agreement with Joanneum University of Applied Sciences

 

South Ural State University has signed a cooperation agreement with Joanneum University of Applied Sciences (Graz, Austria).

Joanneum University is one of the oldest and largest Austria’s universities of applied sciences. Its main campus is situated in the popular student city of Graz. The other two campuses are located in Kapfenberg and Bad Gleichenberg.

SUSU's team is preparing to defend “Road Map”

 

Representatives of the SUSU Managing Committee for the 5-100 program, chaired by rector Aleksandr Shestakov, is actively preparing to defend the program for increased competetiveness of South Ural University (“Road Map”) for 2016-2020.

Today in Moscow, university program presentations are being analyzed, wording and details of the presentation are being clarified, and strategic prospects for future scientific and industrial cooperation with international experts are being discussed.

The Chelyabinsk branch of the Association of International Students, along with the SUSU Office of International Activities invite all students and employees of the university to celebrate Nowruz – New Year’s for the Iranian and Turkish peoples.

The event is being held on March 21st in the SUSU conference hall. Guests off this event will be immersed in the holiday atmosphere and learn many new things about our neighbors’ traditions.

“SUSU Student Science Days” are being held within the All-Russian Festival of Science

 

As part of All-Russian Festival of Science, “Student Science Days” are being held at South-Ural State University from March 21st through March 23rd (2016). This event is being held for the third time in SUSU.

This year, the main goal of the “Science Days” is to introduce students to the various faculties and institutes engaged in the university’s main scientific research projects, which are:

SUSU legal scholars’ projects have reached the international level.

 

The SUSU Faculty of Civil Law and Procedure  has become an academic platform, upon which an international group of research was formed. This group was brought together in an effort to establish a modern scientific concept, “Principles of Civil Law and Its Realization.”

Student of the Faculty of Economics and Management Are the Winners of International Championship

 

The IV Students’ International Championship on Corporate Finance “Growth Driver – 2016” was held the last days of February in Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. 

Applications for participation were received from 120 teams from Russia and near-abroad countries. 24 teams came through to the final, including the team of students representing the Department of Economics and Finance of SUSU.

SUSU Tutor Has Taken Part in the Opening of the Club of Eurasian Intellectual Ideas in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan

 

At the end of February at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) and Tajikistan University of Technology (Dushanbe, Tajikistan) held the first meeting of experts of the Eurasian Club of Intellectual Ideas. The Foundation for Socio-Economic Development ‘Eurasian Community’ (Chelyabinsk, Russia) was the main organizer of the event.

Higher School of Economics and Management and the Institute of Law Will Be Founded in SUSU

 

On the 29th of February the SUSU Academic Board meeting was held. The key issues brought up for discussions were the issues on the development of economic and juridical education in SUSU.

SUSU Signed the Agreement with Asha Metallurgical Plant

SUSU Rector Alexander Shestakov and the Director General of Asha Metallurgical Plant Vladimir Myzgin have signed the contract on establishing a department in the plant. This will give students an opportunity to put the obtained knowledge into practice. The training will be carried out on the shop floors: steelmaking and rolling production.

Journal “Bulletin of SUSU” is Included in Web of Science

In 2016 the journal “Bulletin of SUSU. Series: Mathematical Modeling and Programming” has been included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index database of the unique collection of Web of Science (Web of Science Core Collection). Based on the decision made by Thomson Reuters, all papers published in this journal starting from 2015 will be indexed in Web of Science.

Emerging Sources Citation Index is a new database which is a part of Web of Science.

SUSU Students Contacted the ISS Crew Members Again

 

At the end of February SUSU students sent a call signal to the International Space Station. From the orbit the flight engineer of the ISS-46 crew Sergey Volkov answered the students’ questions.

The duration of a communication session depends on the crew location in the radio coverage zone. This year the spaceship has made one orbit around the Earth, therefore the call duration was 20 minutes.

Mufti of Chelyabinsk and Kurgan Regions met SUSU Students

 

On February 26 in the Art hall the Mufti of Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions Rinat-khazrat Raev met students of South Ural State University. The rector of SUSU Alexander Shestakov, the head of the Administration of Regional Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims Marat Sabirov and the head of the National Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Culture of Chelyabinsk region Ilya Anosov were present at this meeting.
