The creation of new materials is one of the most important scientific thoughts and one of the main areas of work for SUSU researchers. The combination of carbon, which everyone knows, into new, never before seen forms, is what Dmiriy Zherebtsov, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Senior Researcher of the Department of Materials Science and Physical Chemistry of Materials of the Faculty of Materials Science and Metallurgical Technologies, engineer of the Nanotechnologies Research and Education Center at SUSU, is working on.
On September 24, SUSU students from Sri-Lanka, China, Iraq, Venezuela, Columbia and Indonesia along with volunteers of the Center for Sociocultural Adaptation visited the premiere of Paquita ballet in the Opera and Ballet Theatre named after M.I. Glinka.
It’s no secret that the Student Constructors’ Bureau at South Ural State University has been for years constructing race cars which the engineers will present as projects or display them at Russian contests in the future.
Due to the innovative idea of Maksim Nazarov, who works on blueprints for the new vehicles, this year young students constructed an absolutely new race car with which they participated in the Formula Student contest.

Graphic Means documentary on pre-computer-age desktop publishing and design has for the first time been released in Seattle this April. But it drew the attention of a SUSU Professor Pavel Pisklakov a year before at a preview in Warsaw. Already back then he was eager to make this film available for Russian audience. Though, Pavel did not have any significant experience in translation before beginning his work on Graphic Means.

The more global a goal, the more important the result. South Ural State University researchers have set a very difficult goal for themselves – create new crystal forms of carbon with a high amount of nitrogen. In the age of the rapid development of nanotechnologies of Industry 4.0, the use of such materials in electrochemistry and electronics will allow humanity to significantly improve the components of electronic devices.
Today an important task for technological breakthrough stands before Russia. To meet the challenges of the industrial revolution, we must prepare a new age of engineers. Advanced training of engineers armed with the necessary skills in digital engineering is one of the key skills at SUSU, a Smart university bringing Europe and Asia together.
