SUSU Awards Certificates to Students from China

31 representatives of the People’s Republic of China received a document about the completion of a study abroad program.

The study abroad program at South Ural State University has been around for 6 years already. Academic mobility is one of the instruments of integrating the university in the international academic space, and this is one of the key areas of work for the Center of International Academic Programs of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication.

Today, SUSU offers 15 programs of academic mobility (study at a university abroad for 1 semester). Annually, students from our university dive in to a new cultural environment, traveling for education in a different country. In turn, SUSU welcomes international students in the following areas: Russian Philology; Linguistics; Chemistry; Ecology and Natural Resource Management; Architecture; Civil Construction; Mechatronics and Robotics; Electrical Energy; Finances and Credit; Bookkeeping, Analysis and Audit; Management; and Mechanical Engineering. Today the Center of International Academic Programs partners with universities from Sri Lanka, the Congo, China, Slovakia, Finland, USA, and more.

On June 23rd, the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication awarded certificates about the completion of academic programs to students from the Zhejiang Ocean University from the city of Zhoushan. The students from the surprisingly sunny little town in the south of China warmly said goodbye to our university, where over the course of a semester they studied in their selected areas, and also studied Russian and got to know the traditions of Russian culture.

Acting director of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication Elena Yaroslavova gave a welcoming speech to the students and gave them commemorative gifts.

“I liked the conditions for studying at SUSU, as well as the professors who worked with us all this time. They really did a lot for our professional and personal growth. I can definitely say that my time in Chelyabinsk was useful,” shares Xu Saisai, student of Zhejiang Ocean University.

“I studied chemistry, Russian culture, Russian, economics, and management at SUSU. Now I want to study in Chinese all next year, but I’m thinking about coming back here. Thank you to the staff of the Center of International Academic Programs of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication for their work with us,” says Lu Sinye, student from China.

After the awarding ceremony, the students and their teachers did a group photo and thanked each other for the course that they completed.
