"Energy and resource-efficient technologies of diesel building for armored vehicles and engineering machines"

 

Research and Educational Center "Energy and resource-efficient technologies of diesel building armored vehicles and engineering machines" is organized on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council d.d. 10.27.2014 as a division of South Ural State University.

The main objectives of the REC "Energy and resource efficiency in diesel building technology for armored vehicles and engineering machines" are:

  1. Research and development activities in the field of vehicles, as well as diesel engine for armored vehicles and engineering machines in the following areas:
  • determination of the parameters of technical condition of automobile, tractor and road construction equipment (evaluating the effectiveness of brake systems, handling and stability, the definition of mass-dimensional parameters of vehicles, determination of parameters of noise, vibration and harmful substances in the cab of the vehicle and in the working area);
  • improving workflow and designs to improve the internal combustion engine fuel economy, power and reducing emissions exhaust gases to international standards;
  • ensuring collaboration with ICE promising powertrain and chassis in modern engine-transmission units of military engineering and transport vehicles;
  • conducting research, certification and routine tests of fuels and lubricants.

 

  1. Training specialists are competitive in the global labor market, possessing necessary knowledge and skills (including self-learning skill) required for production of new knowledge, technologies, products and services in the field of diesel engines and engine-transmission systems.

The main tasks of the REC "Energy and resource efficiency in diesel building technology for armored vehicles and engineering machines" are:

  1. The organization and performance of research, development and engineering works in the field of diesel engines, engine-transmission units and military gear, engineering and transport vehicles, as well as on other related topics.
  2. Ensuring continuous improvement of material and technical resources used by the University in conducting R & D and training.
  3. Organization of logistics, engineering, methodological and consultative support for any laboratory, Student Master, thesis and other qualification papers and research works of students, graduate students, doctoral students in core areas of activity, during production and other types of practices of SUSU students.
  4. Organization of logistics, engineering, methodological and consulting support of measures aimed at improving the skills of the teaching staff and technical staff of the University, as well as employees of other organizations on the core areas of activity.

 

 

Facilities of Research and Education Center

Laboratory research of engine-transmission automotive unit, road construction and special equipment on the basis of the test stand HORIBA

HORIBA test stand for testing of internal combustion engines with power from 100 to 2100 kW, modes due to industry procedures forced mode and certification tests. Furthermore, the stand can perform typical periodical functional tests and research of internal combustion engines.

The main projects carried out in the laboratory:

  1. Test 2W-12 engine with the fuel supply system of the type of battery with electronic fuel control.

The result: Together with “Uraltrac” was created and tested a powerful 12-cylinder diesel transport fuel supply system of battery domestic production type.

  1. Conducting research and testing computational models basic lineup of high-speed V-shaped diesel engines for special purposes in the power range from 750 to 1500 kW advanced models of motor vehicles and tracked vehicles moderate and severe categories of weight and special wheeled vehicles and transport-technological vehicles.

Proposed result: Creation of basic samples of promising multi-forced diesel engines.

  1. Research and development of technical solutions for the creation of energy-efficient forced diesel engines for onshore special purpose vehicles.

Proposed result: Creation of new prototype engine in cooperation with «Uraltrac».

  1. Increased power efficiency and reliability of the diesel engine series of special purpose.

Proposed result: Creation of commercial sample of diesel forced to 1200-1250 hp in cooperation with «Uraltrac» relying on demand in the country and producing great export potential.

Laboratory of automotive research, road construction and special equipment on the basis of mobile measuring complex with a set of universal research equipment

Mobile measuring system with a set of universal research equipment for determining the parameters of the technical condition of the automobile (categories N and O), tractors and road construction equipment processes results and presents them in the prescribed form.

The system comprises:

  • Complete analytical and measuring equipment to assess the effectiveness of brake systems, handling and stability;
  • Means of measuring the parameters of noise and vibration;
  • Gas analysis system for the measurement of the content of harmful substances in the air, in cabin and the working area;
  • Equipment for the determination of the total mass of the vehicle weight per axle and the side of the vehicle;
  • Equipment for the measurement of force;
  • Means of measuring electrical quantities;
  • Means of measuring temperature and pressure;
  • Personal computer with software for processing the results of research;
  • Optional accessories and tools.
  • Special all-metal covered wagon on the basis of the car "Volkswagen Crafter".

The certification body of engineering products and petroleum products on the basis of laboratory of research and special liquids lubricants, used in automotive industry, road construction and special equipment

The certification body performs the following functions:

  • Carries out works on conformity assessment of products specified in the scope of accreditation, in accordance with the Law on Technical Regulation, the technical regulations of the Custom Union;
  • Certificates the conformity issued to the applicant, approves such types of vehicle corresponding to the declaration of conformity, refuses to issue the documents in the negative results of certification and examination;
  • Registers the certificates of conformity vehicle type approval, the declaration in the register of certified products;
  • Carries out work for the recognition of foreign certificates, test reports and other evidence of conformity of production and prepares proposals on accession to the national, regional and international systems of certification;
  • Carries out inspection control over the certified products with the assistance, if necessary, test centers, regional centers of Russian Supervision Service (“Rosnadzor”) and other organizations;
  • Cancels or suspends the certificate of conformity issued, signs of market and marks of conformity;
  • Creates and updates the fund of normative documents (ND), used in the conformity assessment of products;
  • Develops and maintain organizational and methodical documents on conformity assessment of products included in the scope of accreditation;
  • Maintains a register of certified products;
  • Receives and reviews applications for certification, obtaining the approval of the vehicle, and declaration of conformity of products, as well as prepares decisions on them and communicates with applicants during the conformity assessment;
  • Defines for each specific application a testing laboratory (center) and the organization of inspection of production, if it is provided by the certification scheme, organized on the basis of interaction with them;
  • Participates in the development of corrective actions and decision-operative measures for information on violations of the requirements for certified products;
  • Prepares publications of information on the results of certification of products;
  • Prepares proposals for mandatory certification of specific products, lists of certified characteristics (indicators) and ND, sets the value of the characteristics and test methods;
  • Interacts with the test centers, bodies of quality system certification, the Federal Service for accreditation by the Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and other certification bodies, as well as the TC on standardization of certified products;
