Head

Pavel Samoilovskikh

The Mechanical Engineering Laboratory was opened in 2009 to support research and experiments in the field of mechanical engineering.

What we do

  • Develop applied research projects in a variety of fields related to mechanical engineering
  • Provide research facilities for students’ training and project development for mechanical engineering
  • Develop high-fidelity prototypes for applications in mechanical engineering
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering research institutes

Our services

  • Development of high-fidelity prototypes using different materials
  • Modelling of systems, technologies, and CNC programs in mechanical engineering
  • Reverse engineering
  • Strength testing
  • Project development for the University’s divisions

Our equipment

  1. Metal cutting equipment (lathes, milling machines, electrical discharge machine)
  2. Measurement equipment (coordinate measuring machine, laser interferometric system, dynamometer)
  3. Training simulators (Siemens Sinumerik, Fanuc, small size lathe machine, small size milling machine)

Our research

  • Specialised antennas and hardware modules
  • Microturbine power generation systems
  • Process improvement through reverse engineering (impellers)
  • Energy-efficient transmissions for trucks and buses
  • Receivers development
  • Verification of control systems
  • Gyroscope accuracy testing
