333 International Students Took the Nationwide Dictation Quiz at SUSU

On April 13th of 2019, the Nationwide Dictation Quiz, an international literacy testing campaign was held. At South Ural State University, 255 international participants took the TruD test.

Moreover, among the active participants of this year’s Nationwide Dictation Quiz were the SUSU partner universities from the Pushkin Institute network: 57 participants took the test at Tianjin Foreign Studies University, 11 people – at Beijing Language and Culture University, and 10 students – at Zhejiang University of Foreign Languages.

In Memory of the Great Heroic Act: SUSU Invites to Rehearse the Victory Waltz

South Ural State University invites students to the rehearsals of the Victory Waltz. This year’s dance flashmob, devoted to the heroic act of the Soviet soldiers during the Great Patriotic War, will be held at the university square in front of the main SUSU building on May 7th at 13:00.

Winners of the Young Progressors Contest Announced at SUSU

The Young Progressors Olympiad was held at South Ural State University. The event was organized, per tradition, by the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The Olympiad coincided with one of the most important dates in the Russian calendar – Cosmonautics Day. This year, it was held for the ninth time.

On April 10th, a photo exhibition by a student from Sri Lanka Uvindu Wijeweera was presented at South Ural State University. It was organized by the student with the goal of showing how international students see Russia.

Student Spring 2019: SUSU Presented its Contest Program

On April 10th, South Ural State University students presented their contest program called Island of Faith as part of the Student Spring 2019 Festival. The main performers were groups from the SUSU Recreation Centre.

The Student Spring festival is held every year to support the artistic potential of the student body. Every year, students from special secondary schools and higher education institutions perform and enjoy the performances of each other.

SUSU Associate Professor Takes Part in “Arctic: Territory of Dialogue” the International Arctic Forum

April 8th to April 10th, “Arctic: Territory of Dialogue” 5th International Arctic Forum was held in Saint Petersburg. This forum is a key platform for discussing the pressing issues of social-and-economic development of the Arctic territories, elaboration of tiered many-sided mechanisms of mutual unlocking and efficient development of the great resource potential of the Arctic region.

SUSU Students Took the 1st Place at All-Russian Student Olympiad on Automatic Control Theory

On April 2 of 2019, All-Russian Student Olympiad on Automatic Control Theory took place at Ivanovo State Power University. 56 students representing 8 Russian higher education institutions took part in the Olympiad.

SUSU Students Took Part in the Festival of Co-creation final «You are not alone!»

On April 7th, on stage of Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts the final of the 16th Regional Festival of Co-creativity “You Are Not Alone!” was held. 

The members of the SUSU Headquarters of Student Labour Unions together with children from social rehabilitation centres and children’s homes prepared performances under different categories: Puppet Show; Theatrical Art; Applied Arts Creativity; and Dance Theatre. 

Russian Researchers Improving Materials for Rockets and Airplanes

April 12th is a significant day for Russia – it is the day that Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin made the first flight into space. Today, humanity has set new goals for space exploration. These include not only unmanned flights to Mars and its colonization, but also more “earthly” tasks.

Happy Cosmonautics Day! SUSU is to Present Scientific and Entertaining Programme

Celebration of the Cosmonautics Day is to take place at South Ural State University on April 12. The event is organised annually by Student Council of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

In the 3rd-floor hall of SUSU’s main academic building, all who interested will be able to take part in a scientific and entertaining programme. There will be a number of various interactive stations. Participants will be able to compete in speed at trim trail relays, construct airplanes, etc.

Cosmonautics Day

April 12 is a special day for Russia as the country commemorates Yuri Gagarin’s first space flight. For over 50 years, we have felt pride for the triumph of the Soviet space program in putting the first man into space. On April 12, many Russian cities organise a variety of exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and film screenings dedicated to space.

Centre of Amateur Space and Satellite Communication is to be Opened at SUSU on the Occasion of the Cosmonautics Day

Centre of Amateur Space and Satellite Communication is to start operating at South Ural State University. Ceremony of the Centre’s opening will take place on the Cosmonautics Day, April 12 at 12:00. In the first part of the Centre’s opening, a video message will be received from the International Space Station (ISS), and a communication session with the ISS is planned to be held on April 15.

Players of the Polytechnic will Compete in Matches against MHL Clubs

For the second year in a row, Team of the Student Hockey League is going to play in matches with clubs of the Junior Hockey League (MHL). Last year, the team played against such teams as Russkie Vityazi, Krylja Sovetov and Kapitan.

This year, the team will hold a training camp and play with teams Irbis, Sputnik and Reaktor, which are playing within the Eastern Conference of the MHL Championship.
The team of SHL included five players of the SUSU Polytechnic team: Danil Muhamedzyanov, Lev Ladnov, Dmitry Udalov, Maksim Antoshkin and Aleksandr Berezkin.

SUSU Art Centre to Present the Island of Faith Festival Program

On April 9th, the citywide festival of student art, Student Spring of Chelyabinsk 2019, will begin. The festival is held as part of the Russian Student Spring Program for Supporting and Developing Student Art and is the city round of the Russian Student Spring All-Russian Festival.

The festival was founded by the Chelyabinsk Regional Social Organisation of the Russian Social Organisation Russian Union of Youth, and the Department for Youth Affairs of the Chelyabinsk City Administration.
