“Every Month Is a New Year”: SUSU Held the First International Volunteers Meeting

The South Ural Association of International Students organizes a huge number of events for international students. In this new academic year, it has been decided to create an international volunteers program, where initiative international students were invited to help organize such events.

SUSU Has Successfully Presented a Report on Implementation of the Roadmap at Project 5-100 Council Meeting

On October 24th through 26th, the twelfth meeting of the Russian Academic Excellence Council (the Council of Project 5-100) held among the world’s leading research and education centres took place in Moscow. In the course of the meeting, results of each university’s progress within programme 5-100 have been thoroughly analyzed. The key agenda of the Council meeting was the issues regarding the enhancement of global competitive ability of Russian higher education institutions in 2020 – 2024, and an extension of the validity of measures for government support.

Project-based Learning 2019-2020: New Projects and Global Tasks

Project-based learning, which was successfully launched in autumn of 2018, has become one of the main projects of our university in 2019. The new educational approach is rightfully considered as one of the best practices of the university, the experience which can now be translated to other educational institutions in our country. Project-based learning at the university is supervised by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor Andrey Radionov.

Digital Revolution: SUSU and Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works Implement “Smart Technologies” into Production

South Ural State University, as a participant of Project 5-100, focuses on developing research studies, which integrate computer sciences and engineering, are related to actively implementing the Internet of Things into industry, and aim at meeting the global challenges jointly with leading companies of Big Urals. Functional Materials Being Created at SUSU Laboratory

The SUSU Laboratory of Functional Materials was established at the Nanotechnology Research and Education Centre in 2018. At present, the laboratory conducts research in the field of condensed matter physics, magnetism, metals and alloys, as well as studies new functional materials.

An International Congress on Neuropsychopharmacology was held in Athens. Among the participants was Director of the SUSU School of Medical Biology, Doctor of Sciences (Medicine), Professor Vadim Tseilikman. The report on the after-effects of stress by this scientist from Chelyabinsk captured interest of his foreign colleagues thanks to innovative approaches and the obtained results.

SUSU Researchers Awarded for Their Developments in Agroindustrial Technologies

South Ural State University presented its research projects at the Russian Agricultural Exhibition “Golden Autumn 2019”. The university’s developments in angroindustrial technologies were highly evaluated, and an awards ceremony for the Geoinformation Systems Research and Education Centre staff, who won gold and silver medals at the exhibition, was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Chelyabinsk Region on October 18th.

Presentation of SUSU Went Successfully at EJTA Teachers’ Conference in Dortmund

Associate Professor of the SUSU Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Anna Krasavina, took part in another science-to-practice conference on Journalism in a Global Context arranged by the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA) and held at the Institute of Journalism of the Technical University Dortmund (Germany). The Conference in Dortmund had been arranged in cooperation with the Africa Institute for Media, Migration and Development (AIMMAD) and the African Media Initiative (AMI) Association under sponsorship of the Robert Bosch Foundation.

International Students Welcome Party: SUSU Invites International Students to Matriculation Ceremony

The annual matriculation ceremony for SUSU international students will be held on October 27th.

It is a great opportunity for freshmen to find new friends from different parts of the world. There will be an event-packed cultural and entertainment program for the participants. SUSU offers 17 education programmes taught in English

South Ural State University has successfully completed enrolment for international students to Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes taught in English. As of today, the university has 17 programmes taught in English. Every year students from Iraq, China, Pakistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India and other countries come to study to SUSU.

Associate Professor of SUSU Held Online Master Class on Training for a Russian as a Foreign Language Exam

On October 15 of 2019, Head of the Centre of Testing and Language Training, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, Elena Doronina, held an online master class entitled “Training to pass a B2 level certification exam” at the Pushkin Institute Centre of Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU). Taking part in the master class were 26 second-year students of the TFSU Faculty of Russian Language.

SUSU International Laboratory: Implementing Additive Technologies around the World

South Ural State University together with Lyceum No.11 of the city of Chelyabinsk arranged field trips for schoolchildren to hold outdoors master classes in Lesnaya Zastava Children’s Camp. Specialists from SUSU Schools and Institutes showed the soon-to-be university applicants how and what is studied by students of the university.
