SUSU Students to Attend the 5th Offsite School of Business Information Scientists “An Outward Glance at IT Professions”

 

To celebrate the Information Day, the Department of Information Technology in Economics at SUSU School of Economics and Management as a tradition will be holding the 5th Offsite School of Business Information Scientists “An Outward Glance at IT Professions” at “Nauka” Recreation Camp. This year the event falls on December 2nd and 3rd.

December 1 is the 60th anniversary from the foundation day of the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty. Nowadays its successor is the SUSU School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Today the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science includes 10 departments which perform training of bachelors, specialists, masters and postgraduates in the field of instrument engineering and automated control, radio electronics and computer science.

Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Thermal Power Engineering of South Ural State University Konstantin Osintsev has developed an energy technology complex based on solar collectors which would allow to implement elements of renewable power generation at thermal power plants.

SUSU Climbs Up in QS World University Rankings BRICS 2018

 

On November 22nd a new ranking was published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) – QS World University Rankings BRICS 2018.

Among other things the QS ranking takes into account a university’s reputation among employers, ratio of teaching staff VS students, total amount of the published articles and number of citations.

Students of the SUSU Institute of Law among the Winners of International Student Internet Competition

 

The results have been calculated and the winners named at the final round of the Open International Internet Competition on the History of Russia, Social Science and Cultural Science (November 10th), and on the Russian Language, Philosophy and Law (November 11th).

The second (and final) round of the Open International Student Internet Competition was held at 33 main universities in the form of on-line testing.

From November 24th through 28th, a series of lectures by Professor from the University of Central Florida Artem Masunov is to be held at SUSU.

In 2016, Professor Artem Eduardovich was invited to become Head of the SUSU world-class International Research Laboratory for Multiscale Modeling of Polyfunctional Compounds.

SUSU Contributed to Opening of the Pyotr Stolypin Monument

 

Opening of a monument to the great Russian reformer Pyotr Stolypin took place in Chelyabinsk.

The four-meterhigh sculpture was installed in front of the Rodina (Motherland) Chelyabinsk Hall of Chamber and Organ Music. Pyotr Stolypin is embodied wearing his working uniform jacket and with documents in hand. The sculpture and bas reliefs depicting sights of our Ural city were moulded in Smolensk. Lanterns and benches, also positioned around the monument, were created by masters from Kasli.

Mode Structure of Optic Fiber Analyzed at SUSU

 

Studies of optical moments performed by the Junior Research Assistant at the SUSU’s Laboratory of Physical Research Marianna Vlazneva will help improve orientation of optic-fiber sensors for measuring various physical quantities. The young scientist is the winner of the Prospects of Science 2016 contest, annually held at SUSU under Project 5-100.

Final Information Day for International Students Held at SUSU

 

On November 20, 2017 the second and final information day for the first-year foreign students and those studying Russian was held at Sigma Conference Hall. The event was hosted by the Head of the International Affairs DivisionOlga Yaroshenko. The information day was organized in five languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French and Russian. Over 100 people from different countries took part in this event.

Friday, November 17th a ceremony of awarding the Legislative Assembly scholarships to students and postgraduates of professional educational organizations and educational organizations of higher education was held at the Great Hall of the Chelyabinsk Region Legislative Assembly. Employees, students and postgraduates of South Ural State University also took part in this ceremony.

During the entire history of the university’s development, SUSU graduates successfully build a career in various branches of national economy. Evgeniy Gorshkov graduated from SUSU (back then the CPI) in 1986 on the specialty of Electric Power Plants. Today he is the Director of the AO Branch of the SO UPS Regional Energy Dispatch of the Chelyabinsk region.
