Over two thousand students from China, Iraq, USA, Syria, Sri Lanka, Venezuela and other countries are studying today at South Ural State University. Most of them do not speak Russian, their language is the language of international communication – English.
On December 5 at 15:30, one of the best music teams of Southern Ural –the Chamber Choir of the ChelyabinskPhilharmonic Hall – will perform on the stage of South Ural State University’s Activity Hall. The music team wascreated in 1974 as part of Chelyabinsk Choir Community. Its founder is People’s artist of Russia, Valeriy Mikhalchenko. In 2014, the Chamber Choir was named after him.
Lecturers and employees of SUSU, graduates, partners and employers of School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and representatives of Government of the Chelyabinsj region took part in the event. The Rector of South Ural State University, Alexander Shestakov, opened the celebratory event with a congratulatory speech.
On November 29th the All-Russian Student Applied Science Conference “Scientific Vision” was held at the Department of International Relations and Regional Studies of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication. This conference held for the second time (the first one was held in March) is distinguished by the fact that it is organized for students and by students.
Students of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction took 1st place for their participation in the open contest titled “Best Design Project on Reconstructing Public Spaces in Chelyabinsk.”
The idea for this contest was put forth by the United Russia faction in the city Duma. The contest lasted for more than three months, and any resident of Chelyabinsk was eligible to participate in it.
On December 5, 2017 the anniversary 10th International Scientific and Technical Conference “KNAUF in the World’s Construction Complex” will be held at Sigma Conference Hall. Among the participants will be students, postgraduates and professors of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction, as well as the leading specialists of KNAUF Company.
On December 15th a “Happy New Year!” contest of New Year video-greetings will start at South Ural State University.
The “Happy New Year!” contest of New Year video-greetings will be held December 15th through December 26th, and all the students and staff of the SUSU Schools and Institutes are invited to participate.
October 27th was the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Instrumentation Engineering Faculty (Faculty of Computer Technologies, Control, and Radioengineering), which presently is part of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Nowadays there are many international students. For example, more than 2 thousand students from abroad are studying at SUSU. Students come not only from the CIS countries, but also from Iraq, China, America, Syria, Sri Lanka, Venezuela, Morocco, etc.
Intellectual Student Forum – 2017, within which all-Russia student Olympiads were held on the disciplines of Transportation and Storage of Hydrocarbon Raw Material and Electrical Engineering, finished at the Industrial University of Tyumen.
SUSU delegation represented by Elena Yaroslavova (Acting Director of ILIC), Ksenia Volchenkova (Head of the Department of Foreign Languages), and Associate Professor at the Department of Linguistics and Translation Irina Stavtsevatook part in International Conference on ESP/EAP/EMI in the Context of Higher Education Internationalization. The conference was held at MISIS National University of Science and Technology on November 23 – 25, 2017.
December 1 is the 60th anniversary of the SUSU School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. Today the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science includes 10 departments which perform training of bachelors, specialists, masters and postgraduates in the fields of instrument engineering and automated control, radio electronics and computer science.
On December 13-14 South Ural State University will take part in the annual national exhibition VUZPROMEXPO 2017. At the University’s exhibition booth research developments of the SUSU scientists will be presented, as well as the projects which are being fulfilled jointly with the major Russian enterprises.
The final of the scientific innovation contest UMNIK will be held on November 29th and 30th at South Ural State University. The winners of grants from the Fund for Supporting Innovations will be determined at this event.
Specialists from QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Company will hold a series of workshops at SUSU November 30ththrough December 1st. Quacquarelli Symonds performs expert-and-analytical studies and publishes rankings of the top world universities every year. Within the framework of carrying out the Plan of Events on Fulfilling the Competitiveness Enhancement Pprogram (Roadmap), the specialists from QS and SUSU will be discussing the development and implementation of a complex of measures on improving the SUSU’s position in the QS international ranking.
On December 1, 2017 at 15:00 a celebration will take place at the SUSU Activity Hall on the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of Instrumentation Engineering Faculty, which became part of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in 2016.
On November 24th the 11th International Youth Cooking Festival was held at SUSU. Everyone who came to University Building No.2 that day could feel the appealing aroma of delicious food and the atmosphere of creativity that reigned there.
