On the occasion of the International Museum Day, a master class on experimental archaeology was held at SUSU. This science studies ancient epochs and crafts, and restores once-forgotten technologies. Students were shown how an ordinary stone can be transformed into any labor tool.

On May 24th the First Specialized Conference on Modern Technologies of Quality Control. Non-destructive Inspection and Mechanical Testing was held at South Ural State University.

Among the conference participants were the employees of UralSibPromServis Scientific and Production Holding, who is an exclusive representative of the German company Karl Deutsch in Russia and CIS countries; as well as the head of the university laboratories, and the heads of enterprises of the Chelyabinsk Region, Yekaterinburg, Kamensk-Uralski, Novotroitsk and Saint Petersburg.

Jazz Band Head and Author of the SUSU’s Hymn Georgy Anokhin Celebrates His 70th Anniversary

On May 24th the Head of the SUSU’s Jazz Band Georgy Petrovich Anokhin will celebrate his 70th Anniversary. A flute player, instrumental music soloist and composer made special contribution into the history of South Ural State University. It was him who composed music for the SUSU’s hymn, which is being played in the university for almost twenty years. He was also the author of the hymn of SUSU Spring International Festival, and the song for the university’s graduates Diplomniki (Diploma Awardees).

Little Big Life: SUSU’s International Students on Summer Vacations

SUSU 2018: Moving along the Way of Digital Transformations

Mobile Application for Diabetics Being Perfected at SUSU

Master’s student of the SUSU School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Ivan Volkov developed a mobile application DiaMeter several years ago. The application makes it possible for diabetics to keep a convenient electronic diary. At present, a second, more fine-tuned version of the application which will include a carbohydrate unit calculator is being completed.

International Museum Day at SUSU: Students Will Make Stone Tools with Their Own Hands

Museum Day is celebrated around the world on May 18th. This date was officially made a holiday in 1977 and was becoming more and more popular ever since. SUSU features more than 10 exhibition venues and museums, so traditionally special events for students are held here on this day.

On May 18th an experimental archaeology master class will be held at Museum of Peoples and Technologies of the Ural Region. It will be delivered by a research fellow of the SUSU Research and Education Center for Eurasian Studies and Head of the Archeos Project Ivan Semyan.

SUSU Polytechnic Institute Implements Practice Oriented Education

In 2018 enrollees were accepted to the Bachelor’s, Specialist and Master’s programs of the Polytechnic Institute under 42 fields of training. The Polytechnic Institute offers over 1,000 state-funded places, as well as more than 500 places on fee-paying basis under intramural and extramural forms of studies.

“SUSU, University of Sport!” – Students to Pass GTO Testing

In 2018, South Ural State University will celebrate 75 years since its founding. On May 17th, the holiday “SUSU, a University of Sport” dedicated to this anniversary will be organized by the Institute of Sport, Tourism, and Service with the Office of Mass Sporting Events and the Russian Physical Culture and Sport System “Ready for Labor and Defense” (Gotov k trudu i oborone, “GTO”).
