SUSU to Celebrate the Day of Slavic Writing System and Culture with a Concert by Primavera Academic Choir

On May 24th the Day of Slavic Writing System and Culture is celebrated. On this occasion South Ural State University will hold a “Be Happy, My Land!” concert by Primavera mixed academic choir headed by choir master Aleksey Prosekov. Also the SUSU Studio of the Art of Declamation under guidance by Elena Vasiltseva will take part in the event.

The concert program will include folk songs, Russian church music and folk-like works by modern composers. The SUSU Studio of the Art of Declamation will demonstrate works of classical and folk Russian poetry.

Young and vigorous Primavera group, the name of which translates as Spring from Latin, was established at the SUSU’s Faculty of Linguistics back in spring of 2002. The choir comprises more than 50 students and graduates of our university. It participates in charity concerts and campaigns dedicated to dates important to Russian history, and wins awards at multiple contests and festivals. The choir constantly takes part in arts events organized by the university.

The concert dedicated to the Day of Slavic Writing System and Culture will be held at the SUSU Arts Hall (1st floor of the Main University Building) on May 24th at 17:00.
