On October 15 – 22, the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students will take place in Sochi. 20000 guests from 150 countries will visit the city, and 500 volunteers and 200 community ambassadors will also participate in the event.

Photo Exhibition Will Be Held at SUSU as Part of German Days Festival

 

October 10th through 13th, a “Nature of Freiberg and Nature of Chelyabinsk” photo exhibition will be held at SUSU within the framework of the German modern culture festival “German Days”. The Festival organization is supported by the German Embassy in Moscow.

The main principle of the Festival remains the same ‑ intercultural communication between Russia and Germany. This year’s Festival held in Chelyabinsk is devoted to ecological issues, and its slogan is “To city ecology via ecology of consciousness”.

SUSU students have been participating in the UMNIK Program for several years now. The winners receive grants in the amount of 500 thous. Russian roubles each, for the period of 2 years to develop their innovation projects. Projects are selected in two phases by their degree of scientific novelty, idea relevance, and by other criteria.

The finalists are selected in such priority fields as information technologies, medicine of the future, modern materials and technologies of creating them, new devices and hardware systems, biotechnologies.

Your Chance: the Story of Success of the UMNIK Program Winner Igor Oleynik

 

SUSU students have the opportunity to participate in the program UMNIK, which is dedicated to supporting young researchers’ commercially-oriented technology projects. The winners receive a grant to the tune of 500 thousand rubles for 2 years to develop their innovative projects.

Projects are chosen by their scientific novelty, the relevance of the idea, the technical significance, plan of realization, promise of commercialization of research results, and by evaluation of their capabilities and fascination with their ideas.

SUSU Welcomes Volunteers of the Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum

 

On October 2, 2017 a meeting of the volunteers of the Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum will take place at South Ural State University.

The volunteers will be helping during the events of the Forum between the two countries. For several days they will be working with the conference participants and guests at the Press Center, at the guests’ accreditation site, and at the logistics office. The volunteers will organize the recreation activities of the guests, will accompany them at the hotels and at walks around the city.

SUSU Students Construct New Race Cars

 

It’s no secret that the Student Constructors’ Bureau at South Ural State University has been for years constructing race cars which the engineers will present as projects or display them at Russian contests in the future.

Due to the innovative idea of Maksim Nazarov, who works on blueprints for the new vehicles, this year young students constructed an absolutely new race car with which they participated in the Formula Student contest.
