School of the Press Service of Chelyabinsk Regional Student Squad was held February 22nd through 24th in Malachite Congress Hotel.

March 4 through April 20, Servicing School is to be held at South Ural State University. Participants of the Service Lectorium will be able to enhance their skills of working in the sphere of service and hospitality.
Students will attend lectures regarding places of employment and on types of professions. Also, they will have practical lessons on bartending, table setting, etc. Upon completion of the School, all attendees will be awarded certificates on successful completion of training.
This July a big-scale intensive educational course for the leaders in the changes in the field of higher education will be held at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech). It is going to be a tough competition to join the Ostrov 10-22 intensive educational course, as regional universities from across our whole country will be participating.
South Ural State University is holding a Russia through the Eyes of Students photo contest. This contest is being organised by the Extracurricular Activities Department and SUSU Photo School for the fifth time already.
This contest aims at promoting patriotic education, involving students into creative activities, and developing their interest in Russia. Both professional photographers and beginners aged under 30 are among the participants.

5th-year students of the SUSU Institute of Law took part in a meeting with representatives of the Main Investigation Department of the HO MIA of Russia for the Chelyabinsk region, held within cooperation with employers regarding recruitment of graduates studying in the specialty of Law Enforcement Activities.
Many graduates of Soviet schools dreamed to do three important things: create a perpetual-motion engine, a teleporter, and a time machine. The then tenth grader Leonid Vakhrameev, like the majority of his peers, grew up on the science fiction novels of the Strugatsky brothers. Today, the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Intersvyaz is launching a time machine and sending readers to the time when he was an upperclassman choosing his future profession. What to become: a doctor, like his mother? Or an engineer, like his father?
Annually, in the course of the winter holidays, St Petersburg State University organizes the Winter Psychological School, a unique project with a rich scientific programme, which takes place in the middle of winter on the shores of the snow-covered Gulf of Finland. Participation in the School allows assessing the volume of the psychological community, enrich oneself with new knowledge, meet colleagues from the other universities and exchange contacts for further cooperation.
Within preparation to the 2nd Festival of Electronic Learning called “Interactive Universe”, SUSU’s Institute of Open and Distance Education acted as an organizer of a master class for academics of the university entitled “Blue Ocean in Distance Learning”.
Last weekend, on February 23-24, the quarter-final games of the Student Hockey League took place in the Traktor Ice Arena. Two teams met on the ice, Polytechnik Ice Hockey Team and Urozhay Ice Hockey Team (Novosibirsk).
It is worth noting that the players have met on the ice multiple times and every time Polytechnik turned to be stronger, and the playoff games were no exception. Despite the active struggle of both teams in the course of two games, Polytechnik won the victory. The meetings ended with the score 3: 0 and 8: 3 in favour of the South Ural team.
On February 24th the whole world celebrates the International Day of Political Consultant. Today this date is marked by celebration not only abroad, but in Russia as well. Within the frameworks of this professional holiday annual meetings and conferences are held, with their agenda focused on the topical political issues.
On February 23, Russians celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day honouring Russian soldiers for their bravery and loyalty to their country. This public holiday dates back to 1918 when Russia was on the verge of Civil War and foreign intervention. At the beginning of 1918, the Council of People's Commissars issued a decree on the foundation of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army to resist the enemy. Throughout its long history, the celebration has changed its name several times, from Red Army Day to Soviet Army and Navy Day to Defender of the Fatherland Day.
A regional school for the teams of student unions of conductors was held February 8th through February 10th at the Malachite Congress Hotel. Commanders, commissars, and masters participated in training to improve their psychological and leadership qualities.

This year, according to Order No.346 of the Ministry of Education as of 28.04.2018, a big number of state scholarships will be offered for technical, natural science, and humanitarian fields of higher education.
The 9th International Natural Sciences Tournament (INST), a team competition between students from higher education institutions all around the world in solving preliminarily published scientific problems in the sphere of physics, chemistry and biology, took place in Tallinn. SUSU students took part in the tournament.
On-site tournament stage featured 15 teams representing such countries as Singapore, Indonesia, South Africa, Russia, etc.
