The forum on new media culture Med will be held in Chelyabinsk from August 26th through 28th. Tatiana Mingalimova, editor of the vDud project and author of the Nezhnyi Redaktor; Irina Chesnokova, creator of the Bar in the Big City show and film and television actress; Artur Sokolov, head of the video production company Russia Today; Taras Sychev, head editor of Lentacha; and representatives of MSU, FederalPress RIA, and others will come to Chelyabinsk to share their knowledge and experience.
Over the three days of the educational program, more than 15 experts will visit the South Ural region. The speakers will talk about innovations in the media field, how the creative industry is changing, about the place of social media sites in the modern media space, creating trends, and the possibilities of developing media in the Urals region.
Young people will dive into theoretical knowledge and find insight on lectures by Artur Sokolov, creative producer, head of the video production company Russia Today, and Vsevolod Puli, head editor of Russia Beyond, co-creator of MediaToolbox, senior lecturer of the Faculty of Journalism at MSU. Artur Hachuyan, General Director of Tazeros Global Systems, will offer a presentation about the implementation of artificial intelligence and competent work with open data.
Tatiana Mingalimova will share the history of her success. She will offer a lecture on “Trendsetter, Influencer, and Other Trendy Words: How to Become One and Why Are Bloggers So In-demand?” and will answer questions about her work on the team of Yuriy Dud and the creation and development of her channel Nezhnyi Redaktor.
The second day will begin with a trend session on “Media Skills: Those Fashionable Today or Always in Demand” by Oksana Silanteva, head of the Silamedia laboratory of multimedia communications, member of the Academic board of the Media Communications of the School of Economics, and previously, the marketing expert of internal services at Yandex. Here, everyone will build a map of media skills for themselves and create an educational path.
Irina Chesnokova will speak on day three. The film and theatre actress will speak about her experience in working in traditional media, the reasons she left television, and creating the popular entertainment channel on Youtube Bar in the Big City, which regularly hosts the most scandalous stars of Russian show business.
The forum will also include workshops from partners, practical platforms from federal guests, excursions to Chelyabinsk enterprises, a competition with the opportunity to win an internship, and discussions on current topics. In addition to the educational portion, the organizers will provide a useful cultural program.
You can apply until August 10th on the Youth of Russia AIS. You must register an account on the site (enter your data and attach a photo), then fill out the form in the Events (“Мероприятия”). Participants will be chosen by their experience, achievements in the media field, and their personal projects.
The event is held as part of the program for the developing journalism, South Ural Media Sphere and was the winner of the Rosmolodezh Russian Contest of Youth Projects at the Tavrida forum in 2019. You can find more information about the work of Med on the official site.
