The effect of healthy nutrition on human health is discussed a lot. However, most people still don’t attach importance to it. We prefer quick meals in fast food restaurants to healthy homemade food, overeat quite often and don’t pay attention to ingredients.

A ceremony to award degrees to graduates of the academic programs of the Open University of Great Britain was held at the university.

The deputy consul general of Great Britain Matthew Osborne came to the South Ural region’s largest university to hold this ceremony. The representative of “Foggy Albion” also held a work meeting with the university rector, Alexander Shestakov. 

International Engineering School at SUSU within the Erasmus+ PWs@PhD Project

An international school, Mathematical and Computational Bases of Software Engineering, within the Erasmus+ project “PWs@PhD: Joint Programs and Framework for Doctoral Education in Software Engineering” will be held at SUSU from May 15th through 28th. More than 50 postgraduates and professors from the project’s partner-universities will attend the school. The Erasmus+ PWs@PhD project brings together 11 universities from 6 countries: Finland, Denmark, Great Britain, Jordan, Germany, and Russia.

Associate Professor of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities Submitted One of the Best Literary Translations at Eurasian Open 2017

 

The associate professor of the Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities Denis Pelikhov was second at the XIV Eurasian Open 2017 for the best literary translation in the nomination “The Polish Language”. Participants of this nomination translated a sentimental poem by Franciszek Karpiński and an excerpt of the story for children written by the Polish writer of the XX c. Irena Jurgielewiczowa.

A Prize for a Final Project: SUSU Student Architects Win a Contest of Projects of Residential Complexes in Milan

 

Well-known success of architectural education in the South Ural region: work by students of South Ural State University received first place in an international contest of 182 projects for a new residential complex in Milan. The high rise with a few different kinds of residences and developed public spaces should grow from the location of a previous parking lot to an actively developed business area for the city. It’s interesting that it was a final degree project that received first place, which just needs to be defended in the faculty of architecture itself.

Ilya Anatolyevich Kolomeyskiy completed post-graduate studies at SUSU in 2009 with a degree in history. Today this person, with colossal experience as an organizer and an infectious life energy, heads the Chamber theatre.

SUSU students became winners of the regional stage of the Tournament Three Sciences

 

21-23 April in Tyumen was held a regional stage of the Tournament Three Sciences – team contest between students of Universities of Russia according to the decision published in advance of scientific problems in physics, chemistry and biology, presenting solutions in the form of presentations and protect them during the debate on the Scientific battlefield.

The tournament brought together 9 teams from around the Ural Federal district of South Ural State University, Tyumen state University, Tummy, TIU, CSU, Yourhow.

Foreign Participants of Total Dictation are Awarded at SUSU

This year more than 200 students from Turkmenistan, China, Mongolia, Iraq, Jordan, Laos, Egypt, Sri-Lanka, Yemen, Syria, Indonesia, etc. participated in Total Dictation. This is the record number in the country.

Participants performed test assignments based on the text of the dictation, whose author this year has become Leonid Yuzefovich. The most difficult was writing the text, and also the assignment for checking the degrees of comparison of adjectives. We should note that many international students have been studying Russian for less than a year.
