The Department of Russian as a Foreign Language jointly with the Centre for Sociocultural Adaptation and with support from the Association of International Students presents a new project called Watching Movies Together!
Every two weeks a movie will be announced, which then will be discussed at a movies club and in a dedicated chat. As a result of watching and discussing it is planned to give tasks on writing essays, drawing pictures, and on other forms of comprehending and interpreting of information.
On December 7 at 10.00 in the University Council Hall (room 1007 of the main academic building), plenary session of the 20th International Science-to-Practice Conference is to be opened in the frameworks of activities dedicated to the 75th anniversary of South Ural State University. Organiser of the Conference is SUSU’s Institute of Law.
South Ural State University was visited by delegation of three people from Shenyang Institute of Technology. Within several days, the delegates got introduced to possibilities of the university; as a result, two agreements were signed.
The goal of the visit was discussing further cooperation of the higher education institutions, as well as experience exchange and signing an agreement on opening a joint Laboratory of Food Technology and Biotechnology.
At South Ural State University a masterclass was held by the Chief Editor of Moskovsky Komsomolets – Ural newspaper Aleksandr Skripov, who shared his experience of working in mass media with the students of the Faculty of Journalism of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Field-specific Open House Days were held at South Ural State University on November 17th. Applicants were introduced to five of the university’s institutes and schools.
Pushkin Institute Research and Education Centre of the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communications organises a number of events aimed at popularization of the Russian language and culture abroad. Pupils and students from China are invited to take part in the unique project competition entitled “Russian in the mirror of digital transformations”.
November 20th through 21st, 2018 South Ural SCO Youth Model will be held in Chelyabinsk. The participants will be impersonating delegates representing one of the countries being SCO members, and will together be solving the agenda issue suggested by the organisers.
Students have become the initiators of holding a South Ural SCO Youth Model since they look at it as at a chance to boost the interest of youth to summits of 2020, as well as to improve political culture of young people.
On November 14, an excursion to Height-239 welding shop of the Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant JSC was organised for philologists of the SUSU Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The third day of the 2018 Global Smart Industry scientific forum ended up with the nine sections, which were devoted to the discussion of digital industry opportunities.
November 22nd through November 23rd of 2018 an all-Russian round of student Olympiad on specialisation 38.05.01 Economic Security will be held at the Department of Economic Security of the SUSU (NRU) School of Economics and Management on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of SUSU (NRU).
On November 7-10, the second Ufa International Education Fair took place in the capital of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Innovations for Kids the South Ural company attended the event. This small innovations company, the co-founder of which is SUSU, is the Russian producer of interactive complexes for children.
The three-day 2018 Global Smart Industry forum continues at South Ural State University. On the second day of the international conference, after the Industrial Session, the leading international specialists in digital technologies took part in a round table and different sections.
On November 13-14, 2018, an exhibition “Digital Industry: Solutions and Technologies” took place on the base of South Ural State University and with the support of Governor and Government of the Chelyabinsk Region as well as Regional Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications.

A 2018 Global Smart Industry scientific forum is being held at SUSU. During the second day of the international conference the speakers presented the advanced achievements in digital transformation of production, the developments of the leading universities and research-and-development centres of the world in the field of Industry 4.0, as well as the practices of implementing innovations at big transnational and national industrial companies.
On November 15, 2018, South Ural State University will hold an opening of Samsung IoT Academy on the base of School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The opening of the laboratory is the result of the work on the mutual agreement between SUSU and Samsung company, which was signed in June of the current year.
An important memorandum, preceded by fruitful cooperation, was signed at South Ural State University. The document on cooperation was signed by Rector of SUSU Aleksandr Shestakov, Director General of SMS Metallurgical Service LLC of the SMS Group Holding Wilbert Stoy, and First Deputy Director General of IRE-Polyus of the IPG Photonics Corporation international company group Andrey Ushakov.
October 30th through November 3rd the Youth Forum on Internationalization of Education – Best Practices of International Academic Mobility (supported by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs grant) and the Programme of Advanced Training on Internationalization of Education – Organisation of Academic Mobility and Export of Educational Services were held at North-Caucasus Federal University (Stavropol) as part of the 2nd European Education Week.
The 11th International Conference of Eurasian Transport Universities and the 2nd China-Russia Forum of the Future Technological Innovations and Enterprises were held in Zhengzhou (China) on October 26th-28th.
Aleksandr Rulevskiy, Head of the Department of Automobiles and Automotive Servicing, took part in these conferences in China as a representative of South Ural State University.
On 7-10 November, NUST MISIS (Moscow) held the summit of the Times Higher Education ranking agency “Transformation towards world-class research in the natural sciences-2018”. The SUSU team was represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations Olga Yaroshenko, head of the Academic Rankings Promotion Department Andrey Kocherov, and the analyst of the Academic Rankings Promotion Department Ksenia Danilova.
November 5th through 11th South Ural State University became a venue for a big-scale dance project — contemporary choreography Meteorite Dance Festival.
