The Impressionists

film

Monet, Cezanne, Degas, Renoir - these names are well-known to every art connoisseur. What inspired them and how did they create their famous works of art? Why do we find their paintings so endlessly attractive? Seeking the answers to those questions, The Impressionists turns to a recognised art dealer of the XIX century Paul Durand-Ruel. His famous exhibition that took place in New York in 1886 enabled the world to see the works of various impressionists and saved the art movement from extinction.

The ballet by Chelyabinsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre is not about a particular period in Ida’s life. It is about Ida’s internal struggle for being who she really wanted to be.
