On February 17th, student teams of the Chelyabinsk, Tomsk, and Samara regions will gather at South Ural State University for the finals of the 12th Dance Festival. 16 teams will battle for the Best Dancers title under three categories: Contemporary Dance; Street Dance; and Dance Show.
The annual dance festival will be held on February 17th at 17:00 as part of the Day of Russian Student Teams celebrated on SUSU stage. This year’s event theme is Our Whole Life Is Our Team... Through their performances, more than 300 scouts will tell about the role of student teams in their lives, and everyone in the audience will be able to relate to that story.
This contest is held in several rounds. Thus, 38 student teams took part in the selection round. Students demonstrated excellent skills, but only the best of them were chosen by the jury and made it to the finals, to battle for the victory. Let us note that one of the finalists is the student team representing the Peaceful Atom Student Construction Works (Ozersk), where students are not only working on the winter stage of the project, but also manage to participate in creative and sports competitions, as well as rehearse their dance number for the festival.
“I wish the event participants to be in love with dancing with all their hearts! It will never deceive them. May they improve their skills (physical and moral) every day, put all of themselves into the creativity process, and enjoy the happy moments of their taking to the stage, and cherish them in their memory. You will remember these moments especially warmly as time goes by, regardless of the path and type of activity you will choose for your future lives,” shares Director of the Island Dance school of dancing, and the festival jury member Svetlana Savinkova.
The main task of the festival is improving the cultural, artistic and dance level of the participants, as well as strengthening the student teams traditions and relations between the scouts from different cities.
South Ural State University, Chelyabinsk Regional Division of the Russian Student Teams All-Russian Public Youth Organisation, and the SUSU Headquarters of Student Labour Unions act as the festival organisers.
