Think with Your Heart: “17 Values of Russia” Media Forum Wraps up at SUSU

The “17 Values of Russia” two-day media forum, as part of which our university has become a platform for discussing the “Humanism” value, has wrapped up at South Ural State University. The event brought together students, young media professionals, public figures, and experts, uniting them to create socially significant content.

The Minister of Youth of the Chelyabinsk Region Yuriy Boldyrev noted the importance of the participants’ work and emphasized the significance of the forum in shaping the values agenda among young people:

“The “17 Values of Russia” project has been held across our country for a year now, and in each region that hosts the forum, participants are rethinking the chosen value and seeking new ways to communicate it to young audience. Over these two days, we have seen that the students have been deeply engaged in the work, have proposed meaningful ideas, and, most importantly, they have worked as a team. This means they truly share the same approaches to promoting important values. This is a valuable experience, and we will definitely develop the collaboration that has been born here. It's already clear that some of these ideas can be implemented in the near future.”

The students were engaged in event-packed educational program over the two days. Master classes with leading media practitioners, open dialogues on modern humanism, tours to leading television companies of the Chelyabinsk Region, panel discussions, lectures, as well as practical exercises on creating social content.

“I am very happy to see how the students have come together and begun to work as real teams. This, in my opinion, is the main result: that synergetic effect when you find like-minded people and realize you're moving in the right direction, that the values you hold dear are shared by others. This is a truly important contribution to shaping the future and the worldview of the younger generation. And it's especially gratifying to see such results at South Ural State University,” emphasized SUSU Vice-Rector for Student and Social Affairs Anastasiia Lapo.

The students developed social posters and videos dedicated to the topic of humanism, mutual respect, and support. Expert mentors accompanied the teams at every stage, helping them transform their ideas into full-fledged media products.

Values of Russia” will be held at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and will be dedicated to the value of “Compassion”.

“Today, within the walls of this wonderful university, I’ve heard a very precise statement: humanism is the ability to think with your heart. And since in Moscow we will be discussing and presenting the next value, compassion, it seems to me that it will be right to continue this thought: compassion is the ability to feel with your heart. With this mindset, we set out to prepare and conduct the next stage of the media forum,” shared Executive Director of the First Media Academy of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Mariia Shtein.

According to the results of the forum, an expert council will choose the best projects. The winning videos and posters will be recommended for broadcast as public service announcements on university and regional media platforms.

The atmosphere of creativity, sincere discussion, and collaboration that the media forum created will long be remembered by the participants. Thank you to everyone who was part of this event! Check out the photos in our album!
