Deputy Head of Directorate and Head of the Public Relations Management Department of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, graduate of the SUSU Faculty of Journalism Pavel Bugrov on the Day of Advertising Worker told us about this sphere of activity and knowledge gained at the university, and gave an advice for today’s students. Pavel has experience of working as an air radio host at the South Ural STRBC, and as a PR-specialist at the Trubodetal OAO.
The Laboratory of Experimental Mechanics, which today is a part of the Public Research Institute for Test Mechanical Engineering, was established in South Ural State University in 2013. The laboratory helps SUSU scientists to solve scientific and research problems, and also conducts complex tests for industrial enterprises of the Chelyabinsk region and Russia.
On October 18, swimming competition took place at the Unica Sports School of South Ural State University.
The event is held annually, and this year it is the 10-years anniversary. According to the event’s organizer Marina Balakhonova, it brought us many young swimmers who entered the junior group.

The Second International Science-to-Practice Conference “Measurement: Status and Prospects of Development” has been held at South Ural State University. The most prominent scientists in the field of metrology from Great Britain, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia and other countries took part in it.
In September Ekspert Analytical Center completed the first wave of studying the invention activity of the Russian universities. South Ural State University was listed among the top Russian universities at the fifth position in Section “Relevance of Intellectual Property Assets Created at the University” and at the ninth position in Section “Basic Conditions for Invention Activity”.

On October 17 and 18 the Blood Donor Day event, within the frameworks of which everyone who wants can donate blood, is to be held at South Ural State University.
Starting from today, a specially equipped mobile block-module of the blood transfusion station is positioned at the parking lot near the second SUSU building. On the second floor there is a consultancy point where future donors pass registration and consultation with a therapist.
South Ural State University has improved its status in the QS ranking among countries of Europe and Asia “QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia (EECA)”. Last year our University featured in the range of 151-200, now we have stepped up to line 132.
Until not very long ago, only a few people were sure that online education would be called high-quality education. However, no one is surprised anymore by the fact that the internet is an excellent instrument for obtaining professional education or continuing education. It is a chance to study in a prestigious university, saving the time spent driving to university and saving oneself from the issues of living in a different city. It’s a chance to combine work and study and the freedom of choosing the amount of time needed to complete an assignment.
Every year more and more students from different countries around the world choose South Ural State University for their higher education studies. Today over 2,000 students from 37 countries from around the globe are studying at SUSU in various specialties and fields. And in a little while new foreign students will come to study at our University. To help our foreign students adapt to life in Russia and studying in a Russian university, a Center for Sociocultural Adaptation was established at SUSU in 2016.
The scientific discussion group “Internationalism with a Human Face: Active Participants, Contact Groups, and Targeted Audience of the Soviet Cultural Diplomacy (1945-1991)” was held at the German Historical Institute in Moscow on October 14th, 2017. This was organized at the institution by the research group “Soviet Cultural Diplomacy during the Cold War” as part of a grant from the Russian Science Foundation.
October 5th to 7th, the 6th Forum of Russian Psychologists was held at Kazan Federal University, where Elena Soldatova and Nikolai Baturin along with several distinguished scientists in the field of psychology were elected to the Executive Council of the Russian Psychological Society.
On October 9 through 13, a series of lectures on chemoinformatics called “Increasing efficiency of chemistry in chemoinformatics” by well-known German chemist Johann Gasteiger took place at SUSU.
A unique laboratory studying one the most important vital organs – a liver is founded in the South Ural. There are no analogs to this laboratory in Russia or abroad.
