Under the motto “Read movies, watch a book”: opening of the literary movie club took place at SUSU

Opening of the Movie&Books art and literary club, created under support of the SUSU Scientific library, took place at South Ural State University.

The association is targeted at people who value good literature and quality cinema.

“The club has been created for introducing people to good movies and books. There will be movie screening and its further discussion in the club. In fact, we will teach people how to deliver their point of view. To tell the truth, we didn’t expect so many people to join the club,” says Ekaterina Kolyadich, one of the club organizers.

At the opening, a movie of the late 1950s called “12 Angry Men” was screened. Starting with this precise movie, the story of the art and literary club has begun.

“I learned about the club from a VKontakte group called ‘I Love SUSU’; I got interested and decided to come here despite the fact that I had three double periods and I participated in the SUSU gala concert. Still, I came here and didn’t regret it; it was very interesting. I will try to come to the club again,” shares Roman Iskanov his impressions about the first day.

Movie and book lovers who are not from our university should not be sad, because entry to the Movie&Books club is free for everyone (all you need to bring is passport).

“I learned about this event after joining the ‘Movie&Books’ group in VKontakte, to where I was invited by my friends. At the opening, we watched a very interesting movie which made us think about the neccity of logic thinking in our life,” says Oles Bykov, a student of SUSU.

Movie screenings will take place each month. Information on the further meetings can be found in the VK group called “Movie&Books”.
