SUSU offers 17 education programmes taught in English

South Ural State University has successfully completed enrolment for international students to Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes taught in English. As of today, the university has 17 programmes taught in English. Every year students from Iraq, China, Pakistan, Egypt, Bangladesh, India and other countries come to study to SUSU.

On October 15 of 2019, Head of the Centre of Testing and Language Training, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language, Elena Doronina, held an online master class entitled “Training to pass a B2 level certification exam” at the Pushkin Institute Centre of Tianjin Foreign Studies University (TFSU). Taking part in the master class were 26 second-year students of the TFSU Faculty of Russian Language.

SUSU International Laboratory: Implementing Additive Technologies around the World

In 2017, with the support from SMS Group, a world’s leading manufacturer of metallurgical equipment, South Ural State University opened an international research Laboratory of Mechanics, Laser Processes and Digital Production Technologies, which was headed by Professor of the National Engineering School of Saint-Étienne Philippe Bertrand. SUSU International Laboratory: From Healthy Food Products to Bio-tableware

The Synthesis and Analysis of Food Ingredients Laboratory was opened at the SUSU School of Medical Biology in 2016, within the frameworks of Project 5-100. The International Rankings Agency Times Higher Education has published league tables for THE World University Rankings 2020 by subject.

This year, South Ural State University has been included in THE Engineering & Technology Rankings table by subject for the first time. It has taken place in the interval group of 601-800 among more than 900 universities of the world that train specialists in the field of automation, control systems, construction, electrical engineering, power engineering, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, etc.

A delegation from Mount St. Mary’s University, Maryland, USA, consisting of 9 students and Associate Professor of Economics and Law of the Department of Business and Economics Michael Barry visited SUSU.

Qualifying Round of the World Programming Championship Held at SUSU

“Boiling Point” Opening at SUSU

On Saturday, October 19th, a big-scale event will be held: the opening of the second wave of “Boiling Points” at 47 universities in Russia, one of which is South Ural State University.

The SUSU’s “Boiling Point” will be created for a community of representatives of the fields of education, science, business, non-commercial sector, and the government: businesspeople and technological entrepreneurs. Participants will also include public employees, researchers, members of social organisations and professional communities, students, theorists, and practitioners.

SUSU Climbs up in a Reputable Regional Ranking, QS EECA 2020

Every year, a reputable QS Quacquarelli Symonds ranking agency publishes rankings of the world’s top universities. In the new edition of a regional ranking, QS EECA (Emerging Europe and Central Asia), which includes 354 universities from the countries of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia, South Ural State University has taken the 128th place, having improved its last year’s standing by 7 positions.

A new generation of solar panels is created in Russia

Collaborations of Russian scientists from South Ural State University and the Institute of Organic Chemistry named after ND Zelinsky RAS develop materials for a new generation of solar cells based on organic photosensitizers. More efficient and easier to manufacture environmentally friendly devices for energy production will be obtained.

Vladimir Burmatov Awarded Letters of Acknowledgement to SUSU Activists

Last weekend, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Ecology and Environment Protection Vladimir Burmatov and SUSU students at South Ural State University.

In the context of the 2019 election campaign, almost 30 SUSU students were recommended to be awarded the letters of acknowledgement. During the event, students, who are engaged in social activities, proved their worth while working as volunteers at the city polling stations.
