All-Russian Ecological Dictation Held at SUSU

An All-Russian Ecological Dictation was held at SUSU. The event was dedicated to the World Day of Waste Recycling, which is celebrated on November 15.

The All-Russian Ecological Dictation is an annual project aimed at the formation of the environmental culture, popularizing environmental knowledge among various social groups, increasing the level of environmental literacy as a measure to prevent environmental offenses and as the main component of ecological safety.

The экодиктант.рус web-site presented a variety of educational materials and video tutorials everyone interested could prepare for the dictation with.

Dean of the SUSU Faculty of Chemistry Viacheslav Avdin spoke about one of the goals of the event.

"The dictation quiz is dedicated to those pressing environmental issues that are raised in our society. People understand in their own way what is important for the preservation of the environmental well-being and what is not. It often happens that very great importance is given to some insignificant processes, their importance is exaggerated. And on the contrary, some important things are not paid attention to. Therefore, one of the goals of the All-Russian Ecological Dictation is education," said Viacheslav Avdin.

The total number of participants of the All-Russian Ecological Dictation amounted to 132 people. Among them were students from the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and the Institute of Law, as well as research fellows of the university.

Next week, after scoring, the winners will be awarded by the panel of organisers, which includes representatives from SUSU and the Regional Centre responsible for the conducting of the dictation quiz.

It is worth reminding that the organizers of the All-Russian Ecological Dictation were the Federation Council Committee on Agriculture and Food Policy and Environmental Management, ANO "Ravnopravie", OOD "Angel-DetstvoKhranitel", and Federal State-Funded Institution of Continuing Education "Federal Children's Ecological and Biological Centre".
