Scientists from South Ural State University can "tune" the physical properties of a substance depending on the purpose of its application. For example, they created materials that can withstand high temperatures for temperature sensors. The project to create high-entropy crystal structures based on magnetoplumbite was supported by the Russian Science Foundation.
Young scientists of South Ural State University annually participate in the UMNIK program, which supports commercially oriented research and technical projects. The program winners receive grants in the amount of 500,000 roubles for the implementation of their projects.
For the new academic year the Laboratory for Quantum Information Processing and Quantum Computing of South Ural State University has received new equipment to conduct research in the field of quantum physics.
Composite materials, which are employed in modern technology, have great rigidity, strength, and fragility. Scientists have learned how to produce unique composites that have unusual pseudoplasticity.
South Ural State University has entered THE World University Rankings-2021 at the place of 1001+. A total of 1527 universities from 93 countries were considered in the ranking. The number of Russian universities represented in the ranking increased from 39 up to 48.
The Matriculation Ceremony became especially memorable thanks to the creative approach of the Recreation Centre of South Ural State University.
The event took place under the slogan “Fresh Start”, which means a new student life for freshmen. Students will write new records, receive new knowledge that they have not yet mastered, so for them the doors to the university’s student life are opening for the first time.
South Ural State University has started the academic year with the people wearing medical face masks. To protect themselves from viral infections, SUSU students
According to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valeriy Falkov, 90% of universities in our country will start the academic year as usual, and South Ural State University is not an exception.
Dear colleagues, professors, postgraduates and students!
Our sincere congratulations on the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the new academic year!
September 1 is a wonderful holiday that unites everyone with the desire for new knowledge, scientific research and innovations. There is no doubt this academic year, like all previous ones, will set a new bar in the history of the development of South Ural State University.
The academic year at South Ural State University began on September 1st in an in-class studies format in accordance with the recommendations by Rozpotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights) and Ministry of Education and Science, as well as with the measures and restrictions in effect in our region due to the epidemiological situation.
With the beginning of the academic year, SUSU will fully implement preventive and anti-epidemiological measures in accordance with the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights) and the Ministry of Education and Science. Masks will be mandatory in the university.
SUSU Master’s degree student Aleksey Valiev is developing an engine for electric transport. Together with a lecturer of the Power Engineering Faculty, the young researcher is working on a promising development, which should bring the production of electric machines to a new level. The potential of the project was noted at the UMNIK contest: the Master's degree student was among the winners and received a grant to develop his idea.
South Ural State University invites all of its first-year students to take part in the unique 2020 Matriculation Ceremony. It has already become a tradition that Alexey Texler, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, will participate in congratulating the newly-enrolled students.
The new academic year at South Ural State University will begin on September 1st and will be organized in a usual mode. Are combined studies (distance and in-class learning) being considered? Which prevention measures will be organized for the academic and administrative staff, and students? How will the educational process for international students be organized starting from September 1st? The SUSU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Andrey Radionov answers these and other questions.
In recent decades, materials science—the science about the interrelations between composition, structure and properties of materials and the patterns of their changes under external influences—has been developing particularly intensively. Researchers of this field have created high-strength materials for parts and tools, have developed composite materials, and have discovered superconductors used in power engineering and other branches of engineering. At the same time, the methods of strengthening parts by thermal and chemical-thermal treatment were improved.
The SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communications invites you to continuing education courses: Translator in the Field of Professional Communications (Russian); Theory and Practice of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language.
The programmes are available both through in-person classes and online.
The swimming pool of South Ural State University invites everyone to take swimming lessons.
The pool operates in compliance with the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights): sanitizers for hands and a thermal imager are installed at the entrance, all rooms are ventilated and disinfected, and visitors must wear face masks, except when showering or bathing.
As usual, visitors are required to wear swimming suits, hats, slippers and swimming goggles in the swimming pool.
