Viktor Khristenko Addressed the Today and the Future SUSU Graduates

Dear Friends!

You come to realize what the 1st of September is when the academic year begins for your children, grandchildren, as well as children and grandchildren of your friends. At this very moment, you recall your experience, your emotions on the first day of the academic year, and you understand that the anxieties of students will eventually subside and mix in the daily routine of lectures, seminars, term papers, and internships. I wish all freshmen to successfully travel this difficult and interesting path of mastering knowledge and subsequently become a graduate of South Ural State University!

I sincerely congratulate all members of the academic staff of our university. I am proud that I graduated from Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute (CPI), began my career within the walls of a building on the main street of the capital of the region, and now I am the head of the Supervisory Council of the university, where my father, Boris Khristenko, worked for many years. In these ties of generations lies the condition for the development of our new scientific schools headed by ambitious leaders.

South Ural State University is rapidly developing and responding to the challenges of the modern world. I believe that not only my groupmates, but all alumni of Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute (South Ural State University) follow the news about the update of the Strategy of our university until 2030 in the mass media, on the official pages of SUSU in social networks and messengers. I hope that thousands of our alumni will be interested in the opportunity to return in a new capacity to the alma mater, to enter the ecosystem of knowledge and competencies, which determines something more than just a formal place in the rankings.

The best universities of the world are communities of academics, researchers and partners from among self-employed entrepreneurs and highly qualified specialists. For the sake of forming such a consortium based on human capital, talented graduates of our schools will come to us, and our young compatriots, who have successfully obtained Bachelor's degrees at other universities, will return to get Master’s degrees or engage in postgraduate studies.

Dear alumni of all specialities and years, we are waiting for you as participants of the SUSU renewal program already now! We invite you to start creating the future of South Ural together, making our dear university a laboratory for modelling the development of smart cities of our region, a centre of dialogue with leading enterprises that offer reliable solutions and create a demand for new ideas and discoveries.

Sincerely yours, Viktor Khristenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Council of South Ural State University
