INNOPROM 2025: Alexander Wagner talks about SUSU's role in the robotization ecosystem

The conference "Robotics Strategy. Region-county-country. The components of success" was held as a part of the business program of the country's main industrial exhibition. Alexsander Wager, the Rector of South Ural State University, performed as the speaker.

By 2030 Russia should get into the list of the TOP 25 countries in the world in terms of robotization density which implies the introduction of over 100,000 industrial robots into the technological processes of Russian companies.

In February 2024, Russia's first "Robot Factory" began operating in the Chelyabinsk Region which helds the production and assembly of industrial robots-manipulators. However, in addition to manufacturing robots, integrators, designers and specialized staff are needed.

The speakers discussed the issues of coordinating the processes of designing, assembling and integrating robots into production processes and identified tools to overcome the factors hindering the development of Russian robotics.

Today Industrial Robotics Center has been established in the Chelyabinsk Region which develops methodologies of production automation, scales successful practices and develops strategic initiatives in the interests of the industry for all Russian enterprises.

During the meeting SUSU Rector Alexander Wagner spoke about the place of science in the ecosystem of industrial robotics development in the Chelyabinsk Region. In particular he spoke about the Department of Mechatronics and Robotics, which opened at the university last year. In addition, the meeting participants got to know the infrastructure of the university's Industrial Robotics Development Center and learned about the prospects for the professional development of students studying at mentioned direction.

"The University plays an important role in shaping modern industrial robotics in the region. Our efforts are aimed at training competent specialists capable of solving the tasks of integrating robots into production processes,- said Alexander Wagner, - The main areas of work are the formation of a specialized faculty and center dealing with robotics. We actively cooperate with key enterprises of the industry, such as "Тhe Russian Robots" factory. In addition, the university is engaged in the design and development of innovative solutions in the field of big data and intelligent management systems. We are trying to bring students' practice as close as possible to the conditions of real production. The prepared career guidance system covers a wide range of audiences starting from kindergartens. Special attention is paid to the formation of engineering classes which is increasing in number annually. The interuniversity campus project involves the creation of a unique scientific and educational platform combining the capabilities of universities and industry. In the future this will ensure high standards of specialist training and the possibility of comprehensive solutions to the problems of enterprise robotics."

During the special session best practices were presented and the discussion about possibilities of realization of collaborating projects was held.
