Certificates of advanced training have been officially awarded at SUSU to the attendees of the course on Scientific Paper for an International Journal: Preparation and Publication. The training was organized in the distance learning format at a continuing education portal. The third batch of students in this programme constituted of the university postgraduates.
This course provides a detailed description of the basics of academic writing in English, the subtleties of choosing a scientific journal, the ethics of scientific publications, the structure of scientific papers, as well as editing and peer-reviewing of scientific texts, and the process of submitting papers to scientific journals.
Among the course teachers are the Head of the Academic Writing Office Evgeniia Khabirova and consulting translator at the Academic Writing Office Olga Tolstykh. The course is taught in Russian, using translated content, Russian-English reference books and automated translation services.
According to the attendees of the course, its advantages include its optimal structure and comprehensive content, the possibility to choose an individual educational trajectory, as well as the high quality of online lectures as these are practice-oriented, have clear and easy-to-understand instructions, provide examples and scientific clichés.
As a result of training in this programme, 23 attendees have prepared their papers for international scientific journals.
The next batch of students begin training in this programme in November of 2022.
