Director of the “Non-conventional Materials and Resource-Saving Technologies” Research Institute, Head of the Department of Materials Science, Physical and Chemical Properties of Materials of the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology Denis Vinnik has been awarded a diploma of Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science.
Members of the Academy of Sciences voted for candidates for the honorary title of “Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences” during the General Meeting of the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which was held at the N.D. Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry. Out of 75 applicants, only 10 were chosen as Professors of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Department of Chemistry and Materials Science, including Doctor of Sciences (Chemistry), Professor Denis Vinnik, Head of the SUSU Department of Materials Science, Physical and Chemical Properties of Materials. The voting results were approved at a meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
“The title of professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences gives an opportunity to take part in events held by the Russian Academy of Sciences, including attending meetings and conferences. This will allow to more actively build interaction with departments of the Academy of Sciences, including in terms of the development of the Chelyabinsk Branch of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which was formed last year. I intend to develop collaboration with representatives of institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences to fulfil fundamental projects with the subsequent use of the obtained results in applied developments,” noted Denis Vinnik.
The title of professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences is awarded to scientists holding a degree of Doctor of Sciences or a degree obtained in a foreign country, recognized in the Russian Federation, as well as awards and honorary titles, including membership in academies and scientific societies.
