SUSU Team Earns Silver at the Regional Intellectual Games Championship

 

South Ural State University (SUSU) hosted the finals of the Student Intellectual Games Championship Kot-Znakot. The best teams of universities of the Chelyabinsk Region met at the championship. After intense competition, SUSU team took the second place in the overall standings.

SUSU team π° finished second in the Chelyabinsk Region student championship in intellectual games Kot-Znakot. The championship final lasted four hours; SUSU students won one of the stages—a game of speed with buttons. With the second highest overall score, they earned a silver medal.

A total of three teams from South Ural State University participated in the final game of the Kot-Znakot championships on January 30. They had the best results in the three qualifying rounds held after the opening game on September 26. The tours were held at leading universities in Chelyabinsk, as well as in Miass and Magnitogorsk.

"The student teams prepared from February to May 2021. Famous Chelyabinsk coaches Aleksandr Gubin and Ilya Klyuev held training sessions in various intellectual games at the SUSU Student Centre. From October through December, there were three rounds of the main intellectual game. More than 50 teams participated—more than 300 students. The three best teams from each site at the end of three rounds were invited to the finals", said Stanislav Lysov, Chairman of the Board of the SUSU Intellectual Games League.

The results in the game of speed with buttons (the teams competed not only in their ability to correctly answer the questions, but also competed for time):

All winners and medallists received medals and cups, and the teams with the best results in intellectual disciplines received branded gifts. The overall winners were awarded a lifetime certificate to the VRC Virtual Reality Club.

The event wrapped up with a ceremony to hand over the duties of the head of the SUSU Intellectual Games Club to Aleksey Tiunov. This position was previously held by Stanislav Lysov.
