South Ural State University continues admissions of documents from foreign university applicants. More than 500 registered admissions applications have already been submitted by citizens of such countries as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, Egypt, Algeria, Côte d'Ivoire, and many other.
Head of the International Student Support at the International Office, Ekaterina Yurovskaya, noted that this year the interest of foreign university applicants to SUSU has significantly increased.
“If compared to the last summer, admission of foreign university applicants is going more intensively. Right now, applications get submitted by international enrollees who have completed Russian language courses in higher education institutions of other Russian cities. They choose SUSU to get a degree by studying on the main general education programmes. Especially in-demand are the programmes being implemented in English. The main flow of international enrollees is expected after the 20th of August in regard with the migratory regulations. I think, in September the list of countries from which students come to get enrolled will become longer.”
Master’s degree programme on Theory and Practice of English Language taught in English at the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications has become one of the most popular programmes. This programme is designated for foreign citizens who are planning to use English language in their professional activity. The Programme alumni’s sphere of professional activity includes Philology and the Knowledge of Humanities; Interpersonal, Intercultural and Mass Communication in Oral, Written and Virtual Forms; and Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
An enrollee from Egypt, Elkasaki Ahmed Hussin Zaki, told us why he has chosen this programme: “I completed pre-university training at another university and decided to get enrolled at SUSU in order to improve my English. Russian education is highly appreciated in Egypt, moreover the fact that Master’s studies provide some more profound knowledge. SUSU is considered to be one of the largest and important universities of Russia. I heard a lot about your university, a lot of my friends have a positive feedback about it and say that people here are always ready to help, and I have already made sure that this is true. In the future, I am planning to work in the sphere of tourism in Egypt or some other country.”
