SUSU to Present Its Developments at the International Exhibition INNOPROM-2018

The international industrial exhibition INNOPROM, which has been held annually since 2010, will be held July 9th through July 12th in Yekaterinburg. South Ural State University will also take part in this large event.

Each year, over 50,000 participants from more than 95 countries attend the INNOPROM exhibition. Around 1,500 journalists from around the world cover this significant event in the industrial field.

Digital industry is the main topic of INNOPROM-2018. The Republic of Korea, one of the leading countries of the Asia-Pacific region in economic development and in the volume of trade with Russia, is a partner country of this exhibition.

Over the last decade, Korean industry has achieved leading positions in such fields as automobile building, shipbuilding, and production of electrical appliances and telecommunications equipment.

At INNOPROM-2018, the partner country will present the achievements of the leading fields of Korean industry, innovative developments, investment opportunities, and prospects for technological partnership.

In its turn South Ural State University will present its innovative developments:

  • Coriolis flowmeter – high-accuracy measurement of the flow rate of oil products with;
  • Samples of parts with restored surfaces – hardening and restoration of the surfaces of parts through laser deposition;
  • System of telemetry for agricultural machines;
  • Unmanned aerial vehicles;
  • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) with CNC and computer vision (CMM-CNC-CV);
  • Teaching and production lathe machines with a computer CNC system;
  • Teaching equipment complex for training service engineers for workstations with CNC;
  • Demonstrative complex “Trainers” – specialized software in which 3D models analogous to real equipment are shown;
  • Automated laboratory rolling mill, ДУО-130.

“The university’s participation in the INNOPROM exhibition is important, first of all, because this is an international space at which all of our developments will be shown. All of the events that will be held as part of INNOPROM, in one way or another, will be held with the patronage of the Agency of Strategic Initiatives, which will hold a number of events and strategic sessions. The main goal for SUSU is to show their leading developments and show that we are on trend for the development of the national technological initiatives, where a number of projects are being executed as part of a federal target program,” says SUSU Vice-Rector for Research Aleksandr Dyakonov.

The exhibition is organized by taking priority international directions of the development of industry and technology into account, as well as the priorities set in Russian programs of industrial and technological development.

“Our university will present one of our new developments – samples of parts with restored surfaces using laser depositing. At the end of 2017, we organized a laboratory alongside SMS-Group and École nationale d'ingénieurs de Saint-Étienne (France). SMS-Group was a sponsor for purchasing the equipment for laser depositing. Today, this is a very promising direction which is being developed across the world. Under the guidance of SUSU researcher Marina Samodurova, a number of projects for businesses are being fulfilled: Russian Electric Drives and ChTPZ. In the future, this will become a base for the restoration of parts which SMS-group will send as parts for the Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works,” notes SUSU Vice-Rector.

As part of INNOPROM, spaces for international cooperation will be created, and the schedule of events will be built based on the interests of participants and on expert opinions from industry representatives.

“It’s very important for us to show our developments, to show what we have achieved over the last year, and to get to know the main leading areas of development at different universities and businesses. It is important for us to establish contacts, establish cooperation with the leading industrial partners who will then order developments from our university,” says Aleksandr Dyakonov.

The leadership of INNOPROM-2018 is organizing specialized events in the most current topics and invites authoritative expert representatives to participate.
