Awarding ceremony of Russian athletes who hit the podium at the Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang was held in Kremlin. Among the athletes was Anna Nechaevskaya, a student of SUSU.
Anna is a student of SUSU’s Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service majoring in Physical Education. She is a Master of Sports of Russia of International Class and two-time gold and bronze medalist of Russian Championships. At the finished Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang Anna took bronze in ski relay 4x5 km as part of national team of Olympic Athletes from Russia.
After returning from South Korea, the athletes who hit the podium at the Olympic Games were invited to a meeting with the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. This is where the Russian Leader awarded the SUSU student with a medal of the second-class Order For Merit to the Fatherland.
Same award was also given to bronze medalists of the Olympiad in freestyle, Ilya Burov and Sergey Ridzik; bronze medalist in short track, Semen Elistratov; bronze medalists in ski races, Natalia Nepryaeva and Anastasia Sedova.
“Success of our skiers is worth a lot. Medals were won by very young athletes. This is a direct proof of the fact that the legendary school of Russian skiers is winning back its positions in the world,” said Vladimir Putin.
As a notice, aside from state awards, Russian athletes, the winners and prize holders of the Olympiad in South Korea, will be given automobiles BMW Х4, Х5 and X6 manufactured by Avtotor manufacturing company in Kaliningrad.
As a reminder, in the result of the past Olympic Games, Olympic Athletes from Russia took two gold, six silver and nine bronze medals. Norwegian team is the leader of the general medal standings: 39 medals in total, among them 14 gold. Athletes from Germany have the same amount of golden medals, but their total number of medals is only 31.
