SUSU Library Wins Mikhail Prokhorov Fund

 

According to the results of the open charitable competition entitled «The New Role of Libraries in Education» (program block Science, Education and Enlightenment of the charitable program Literary Culture), the SUSU library has won a grant from the Mikhail Prokhorov fund for the realization of the project entitled «Publish Properly!». The head of this project is the director of the SUSU scientific library, Svetlana Smolina.

Applications to participate in the contest were accepted from March 1st through April 28th, 207. 443 applications were submitted and 328 of them were admitted to the competition.

The main goal of the contest is to chance the public's opinion on libraries and energize their activity in projects and, as a result, increase the level of education and quality of life of the population.

This contest is aimed at the support and realization of programs to support activities in the area of a person's education, science, culture, art, enlightenment, and spiritual development and also change society's opinion on libraries to one of an important element in life for the development of modern society.

The private charitable Mikhail Prokhorov Fund was founded in 2004. The main goal of the fund is the systematic support of culture in Russian regions, their integration into the international cultural space, and increasing the intellectual level and creative potential of local populations.

The Expert Committee of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation verified the results of the open charitable contest entitled «The New Role of Libraries in Education» (program block Science, Education and Enlightenment of the charitable program Literary Culture).
