My Fair Lady: Miss SUSU 2017 was chosen

On April 7 the Miss SUSU 2017 contest final was conducted at the Congress and Exhibition Hall. This year competitors went before the jury and the audience in characters of great women who have set the world on fire.

More than 100 SUSU students expressed their wish to take part in the elimination round of the competition. Only 16 candidates for the grand prize participated in the final round.

“The Miss SUSU contest has been conducted for 10 years. Several years ago the competition exceeded the university’s scope and became a municipal project,” says Snezhana Antonova, Content Manager of the contest.

This year the theatrical performance was focused on images of unique women. It erases the boundaries between beauty icons of different times. The stage director Daria Vasilieva is convinced that each girl can be a fair lady, the key point is to preserve a capability to create, love and enjoy life.

The idea of the final show organizers implied a gradual transformation of students who spend all day in social networks into erudite and well-educated ladies.

The girls were portrayed as Maya Plisetskaya, Liudmila Gurchenko, Marina Tsvetaeva. In characters of these prominent women the participants have told about things that cause much concern: love, happiness, freedom, success, relationships with family and friends, etc.

Another striking moment of the show was identification of each student with images of literary characters: Belle, Margarita, Natasha Rostova, Alice in the Wonderland, Karetina of Ostrovsky’s The Storm and others.

Following the decision of the expert jury, which included SUSU representatives and Chelyabinsk media experts, a student of the Higher School of Economics and Management Natalia Lapshina has become Miss SUSU 2017. Marina Nigmatullina won the title of the First Vice-Miss. The title of Second Vice-Miss was given to Alina Gabdulina.
