SUSU Started the II International Forum "Communication Leader of the XXI Century"

It is the second year the international scientific and educational forum "Communication Leader of the XXI Century" is held in SUSU. This time more than a thousand talented schoolchildren and students from all over Russia, near and far-abroad countries became participants of the forum.

The opening ceremony of the International Forum "Communication Leader of the XXI Century" started with the opening speech uttered by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of SUSU Andrey Radionov:

"I am glad to welcome you within the walls of our university! I would like to mention that this forum is supported by the European Journalism Training Association, whose president is here today. Also I want to say that our university participates in the competitive growth program 5-100, and it is impossible to rise to higher levels without participating in the international media space. For this purpose, SUSU has all the necessary corporate media sources: newspapers, websites, magazines, student television and radio company that broadcasts 24 hours a day. With all these you will certainly get to know in the course of the forum. I wish you success, enrich yourself with worthy ideas and present your own ideas to your colleagues!", said Andrey Aleksandrovich.

The forum started with a foresight session, where the motivational speaker of the forum, Liudmila Shesterkina, Doctor of Philology, Dean of the Faculty of Journalism of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of SUSU, highlighted the relevance of the International Scientific and Educational Forum "Communication Leader of the XXI Century" and introduced keynote speakers of the forum. Among them were:

1. "Historical leader or the leader of history?"

Igor Sibiriakov, Doctor of History, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of History of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of SUSU

2. "Leadership psychology: challenges of the present, risks and resources"

Elena Soldatova, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Psychology of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of SUSU

3. "New competencies of a journalist"

Dr. Nico Drok, President of the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA), Netherlands

4."Leaders and 'outsiders' in literature and art"

Elena Ponomareva, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Director of the Institute of Social and Humanitarian Sciences of SUSU

5. "Public speaking of a communication leader: trends, secrets, instruments"

Dmitrii Rudenok,  Head of the Press Service of SUSU

On the same day, the International Congress Public Relations and Advertising: Theory and Practice began its work, where young advertisers and PR specialists competed in creativity and ingenuity, in the ability to feel their audience and send a message in a competent way. The organizers noted that despite the little experience, the participants approached the projects as professionals, tried to conform to the current standards of the media world as much as possible.

In the second half of the day, the International Festival of Student and School Media "Media Planet" was opened within the framework of the forum. About a thousand beginning journalists from all over Russia, near and far-abroad countries presented their works on the forum. Future journalists competed in almost all areas of modern journalism: television, radio, print media, Internet-media and social networks, universal and international journalism.

The forum will last until March 26. During this week the participants will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of media and try their hand at unique multimedia and scientific events in the field of media, philology and public relations. The main task of this international scientific and educational forum is the exchange of experience that will allow participants to develop and demonstrate their leadership skills.
