“SUSU Student Science Days” are being held within the All-Russian Festival of Science

As part of All-Russian Festival of Science, “Student Science Days” are being held at South-Ural State University from March 21st through March 23rd (2016). This event is being held for the third time in SUSU.

This year, the main goal of the “Science Days” is to introduce students to the various faculties and institutes engaged in the university’s main scientific research projects, which are:

  • Engineering (interdisciplinary aerospace research with an end-goal of developing methods of defense against asteroids.)
  • Supercomputing: intellectual data analysis necessary for more complex, ultra-large sets of data;
  • Natural sciences: project for the development of alternative energy sources, including the creation of materials for solar batteries (photosensitizers), which can increase the effectiveness of solar batters and lower per-unit cost of energy production;
  • Human sciences: analysis of the molecular mechanisms of the development of chronic emotional stress, which is problematic for individuals living in modern megapolises.

These research projects will be described by representatives of teaching staff of the following faculties: Aerospace, Chemistry, Energy, Computational Mathematics and Information Sciences, and also the Institute of Sport, Tourism, and Services.

Staff are expected to participate in the foundation of student projects within the above areas of research, and to aid in the defense of these projects. Before this, there will be master classes dedicated to the techniques of creation and presentation of projects, and the theory of problem-solving in invention as an instrument for project activities. In the process of working on their projects, students will be consulting with professors and teachers of the appropriate faculties.

Representatives of the university’s academic board, faculties, and institutes will serve as the jury for the projects presented by the teams – the deans and assistant deans of science, who are responsible for working with talented youth.

 “Photoschools” and tele-radio company “SUSU-TV” will be helping to capture the most interesting moments of the “Student Science Days”.

We invite all interested parties to participate in this event. For this, organizers request everyone to go through registration in the official event group before the end of March 15th.
