Achieving International Level!

We are glad to congratulate the Faculty of Law students Polina Ivanenko (FL-503), Gennady Kuznetsov (FL-504), Milana Martynova (FL-507), Olga Ryapolova (FL-503) and the team coach Raul A. Khashimov, Associate Professor of Criminal Proceeding and Criminalistics Department, on the 25th team place in XII Russian National Championship named after Philip C. Jessup. The Championship was held since January 30 up to February 3 in Moscow State Academy of Law named after O.E. Kutafin.

Jessup Cup is an international law contest among the students of Law Faculties of Higher Education Institutions. During the contest students represent the interests of parties in imitated litigation in front of imitated UN International Court of Justice. The judges in Russian stage of the Contest are Russian and foreign lawyers who specialize in various spheres of law. The Contest is one of the most spectacular international competitions. Founded in 1959 by the International Law Students Association today it gathers up to 700 teams from over 90 countries.

This year more than 50 teams from universities all over the country participated in Russian National Championship of the Contest. The first experience of our students proved to be very decent: students demonstrated good knowledge of public international law, knowledge of Law English and great eloquence.

The students’ team expresses gratitude to their team coach Raul A. Khashimov for professionalism in training for the contest, attention and support displayed in most complicated situations, sympathy, wise directions and also wonderful sense of humour!

We congratulate the students on excellent result and hope for further participation of our students in this exciting competition!
