On the Birthday of Central District the local Administration traditionally honours the most active and respected citizens who have made a tangible contribution to the development of the city in different spheres of activity.
This year the title "Man of the Year-2012 of Central District" for contribution to the development of high school has been given to Elena Vladimirovna Ponomareva, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs of Faculty of Journalism.
The jury of the contest marked the activity of Ponomareva E.V. as Head of Russian Language and Literature Department directed towards the humanization of education.
According to Elena Vladimirovna the greatest award is the recognition of fruitful activity of South Ural State University which promotes the status of Russian philology in the society, solicitous attitude to the traditions of national language and culture. Only co-operative efforts of the Department, Faculty and University can bring the results and preserve the status of SUSU as the leading centre of education, science and culture.
